Saved Me Sooo Much Work
11 Month Update: Just set up my fifth Micca. I used another Silicon Power 1 TB Hard Drive but I bought a discounted out-of-box Micca. Again flawless performance from both.10 Month Update: I just set up my fourth Micca. I put the movies on a brand new Silicon Power 1 TB Hard Drive. I would have preferred using a high capacity USB drive but they are still cost prohibitive. I noticed that the Silicon Power was formatted in FAT32 but didn't think that would make a difference. When I hooked the drive to the Micca, it read the drive fine but displayed all the movies twice and wouldn't play them. I erased the Silicon Power, reformatted in NTFS, reloaded the movies, and it played fine.9 Month Update: Addendum: I thought my unit quit working (I was wrong) so I contacted Micca and they had a replacement to me in two days. Awesome!Original Review: I've got two brothers with no internet, computer, or cable TV. Their only access to movies is via an antenna and an old DVD player. I was going to start burning shows to dvds for them (which I haven't done in a decade) when I came upon this device. Sounded too good to be true.Took me three minutes to hook it up (new Smart TV) and less than a minute to find a movie on the attached hard drive. I had watched a video on how it worked before I ordered it so I basically knew what to look for. Then I hooked it up to a 10 year old Samsung (took about a minute) and it played perfectly. I already had an old 2TB hard drive to use for the movies so my only cost was for this device. I spent another 10 minutes making a set of instructions for them that were easier to use than those that came with the device.I put this one in the mail for them but am ordering a second one for myself. I currently hook my computer to my TV to watch movies and TV shows (no cable for me either) but it's a bit of a hassle and the HDMI cable doesn't connect well to my Lenova Yoga. This device is much more convenient and I can leave it hooked up all the time.I never thought they could make something this small and this cheap and this easy to use at this quality. I highly recommend.Addendum: My grandson quickly laid claim to the second one so now I have to order a third one.I was laid up after medical treatment yesterday so I used this to watch multiple shows. I found the remote to be imprecise when making selections and repeatedly ended up in the wrong place so it is not as easy to use as your TV remote. I can get to shows fine but can't easily move within shows.

Very Nice Product, Does what it says and more
I think this product is a great piece of technology. After reading other reviews, I checked the remote for sensitivity and didn't experience a problem with it. The unit outputs old analog audio/video via an RCA jack or high definition digital signal through an HDMI output. The menu is easy to operate. It reads a USB input for jump drives and also has an SD card socket. The player will reads a load of the most popular digital video formats, an array of popular audio file formats and has a very nice built in slide show player complete with transitions and play options. I am using this at a museum as a multimedia player and it works like a charm. My PowerPoint presentations have been outputted as WMV files and they work great. I would definitely recommend it.

Great media player
I have 3 of these for 3 different televisions. This is easy to use and great for playing the moves on that I have on a flash drive. The remote makes it easy and it's great with mp4, mp3, avi and vlc files which is what I play from downloading from torrents. They are small which is nice and work better than the more expensive players. I'm very happy with it and that's why I bought 3 of them.

Remarkably terrible product - one wonders about the high ratings
I can't speak for others, especially those who think this product is worthy of more than a couple stars, but my experience with Micca Speck G2 was entirely negative.- Awful interface. Rather than scanning available media, especially the current SD card, which is readily scannable, it makes you navigate through folder structures - with a clunky interface from the 1990s.- Detected about 20% of the MP4s on the media. No problem playing them on other systems.- Ergonomics, terrible. SD card sticks out, making it dangerous to throw into a bag, lest you knock and damage the SD card. For a whole few cents more, they could have used a full embedded SD card reader and avoid this. The design of this product is an afterthought from start to finish. And it doesn't work.If it worked, it should sell for $15 - $20.

Great product with superior service.
This is not only a very nice looking and compact product, but it works as described with a very easy to follow start up screen. Simple and understandable instructions with a remote that is well designed. My slide presentations (pictures/video) were displayed as I had hoped for (from my USB flash drive). You will be well served with this product. Any questions answered by the supplier were given promptly and courteously.

Expensive
If you are considering this item and you're not in a time crunch I would recommend buying it elsewhere as I know the company sells it on their website for cheaper and there is another cheaper option on amazon as well. I only bought this one because it could get to me the fastest. The product works well overall and I would recommend buying it if you're looking to play media to a smart TV.

I can't think of enough great things to say about this.
A solidly-built little device, totally plug-and-play. Hook it up, plug in an SD card and you're good to go. At first it choked a bit on a 1920x1080p 60fps video, but I scaled it back to 30fps, and all is well. Perfect for pocket presentations when you don't want to hassle with a laptop.
