SZMDLX Smart Plug, Smart Outlet WiFi Plug Wireless Outlet WiFi Timer Plug Remote Control by Smartphone Compatible with Alexa Google Home No Hub Required (2 Pack)

I ordered the SZMDLX Smart Plug outlets to continue the conversion of lighting and fans throughout my house to smart outlets. It was very easy to set up but has to be plugged into a three-prong outlet as it won’t plug into an extension cord with only two blades and no ground, and it is large so it takes up the entire outlet. All you have to do is plug it in and press and hold the manual on/off button until you get a rapid blue and red flashing light. Then you can use the downloaded eFamily Cloud Smart App or Tuya Smart app to discover it using your cellphone and assign it the name you want. Then you can turn it off and on with the app, set up a timer schedule or set up your Alexa app to connect it to your Echo or Echo Dot. All of the functions worked fine and it works great. You can also use the manual button on the front of the smart outlet to manually turn it on and off without using either the cell phone app or Alexa. I plan to use it with several other smart outlets throughout the house to set up a control group to turn the lights off and on off on a timed cycle for security when I am not at home. The nice thing is I don’t have to find and plug in mechanical timers anymore and I can also still override the timer and control them with Alexa any time I want. The only downside to this WiFi socket is it is very large compared to some of the other cube sized sockets to it takes up a lot of room in your outlet.

Doesn't work with an ordinary, household wi-fi system in San Francisco. Too bad – WeMo, Echo (3 types), Ring, August and Nest all work fine with our system. It's odd they are listed as "Amazon's Choice" since they are not listed in Alexa as one of the choices under "What is your brand of Plug?" Now that I look more closely, I see that other brands include the notation "Amazon Certified". This one does not. Their so-called "customer service" was totally unhelpful, and they never responded to my detailed questions and would not accept a return. Buyer beware.

Works as advertised. Must say I was pleasantly surprised! App was simple and clear, as was setup. I use them for setting up Christmas lights & home decoration schedules. They work fine with ungrounded light strings and their extension cords. After this season is over and I store them, it will be interesting to see how much setup will be required on them. Since the IOS download is from the app store, it should be reasonably secure. Negatives? As previously noted, too big and bulky and using a QR code to find the app seems kind of kludgy. At a minimum, they should provide links along with the code.

I purchased these for my daughter who likes to stay up all night and play on her laptop. Now at 10pm the wifi turns off. They are easy to set up and use an app to control, you can use these for everything from a simple lamp, to controlling Alexa. I don't have to go upstairs to turn off all the lights now, or if I leave the house I can shut off the lights from the car. I will be needing to purchase at least 6 more to completely upgrade my house, worth every penny.

So far I like this product. I have it using only one plug on the outlet. It is too big to access your second plug. But I have a power strip plugged into it with two devices plugged in. My echo and a lamp. I have a timer set to turn off in am and turn on in pm. I just set that up, so waiting to test. One thing I dislike is the light on front. You can't dim it or turn it off. Makes this unusable in my bedroom. I will use in other parts of the house, but will not buy more because of that. Thank You

Super easy to install the app. Once installed, I just theset timer on and off at my choice of days and times. Also I can log on the app and turn the lights on and off when I choose. No more worrying about rushing home before it's dark to have lights on in the house for my pups or when getting home and walking in a dark house. Also with having set a time your lights come on, people will think your home. Wonderful product and excellent price! I highly recommend this!!

I bought a two set. One is still fine and really cool, the other died very early on. It still "turns on and off" with the app but the device plugged in stays on no matter what.

I bought this for my daughter's room. Her room starts out very warm but can get chilly throughout the night, then gets warm again in the morning, so I plugged her fan into it. I'm always afraid of going into her room and waking her to turn her fan off and on. And I can just turn it on using my phone, I don't even have to get out of bed! It's amazing and you get 2 of them, so it's actually a great deal. Even my husband was impressed lolI just discovered that this thing has a timer too! So awesome! You can set it to turn on or off whenever you want!!
