Not impressed for how much it cost. Look elsewhere
I bought this for locating shipwrecks on the Great Lakes and really don’t like it as much as my old Lowrance HDS 7. The 3D is a joke and does not represent the bottom at all even when going over massive boulders of the break wall...it shows a flat bottom, same with a wreck for the most part.I lose gps signal a lot while going across the lake, and the startup time is a couple minutes before your gps position is even shown on the map when booting up.I went over known wrecks and didn’t see anything many of the times and have still not located one even though I have the exact coordinates and have searched in a grid pattern twice. My Lowrance would show images that jumped off the screen on sidescan or downscan. This model is top of the line and this is what I get? Very disappointed after spending so much. Yes my transducer is flat and properly mounted. The touchscreen is nice and the ability to change window sizes, but that’s the only good thing I have to say about the unit.

I find this MFD to be a superficial attempt in the creation of a great product!
This Multi Function Display (MFD) is OK, but the current software doesn't really live up to the hype that Raymarine inflates it to! The Lighthouse 3 software leaves much to be desired (even after the latest 2018 update). The built-in WiFi connection is limited to connecting the MFD wirelessly to a TV using a DLNA casting device (like the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter). It will not work with Google Chromecast! Although the MFD does create its own WiFi network, it is pretty useless since the only actual devices you can connect to it, are devices that run Raymarine's proprietary apps (currently very limited to basically 2: RayRemote and RayView). You can select ONLY ONE of these apps to run at one time, and it must be done from the MFD interior settings menu. Displaying NMEA 2000 data (like Environment - barometric pressure, temperature, humidity) generated by other compatible devices is limited and counter intuitive to program while navigating through the windows Raymarine calls "pages". After programing a page with all the data desired, the page looks dull since there are no icons to associate to the data displayed). There is no pinch to zoom and most of the "icons" cannot be moved about as you please. You're limited how Raymarine placed the icons on the screen. You can only change the data displayed in each icon. So, if you don't like the look, you're out of luck. You can add a data overlay (icon) that you can resize in 3 preset sizes, but data overlay icons are limited to only 4, and the data you can asign is also very limited (no environment or wind data etc.) If you wish to view all this data on a mobile device via WiFi, using other more attractive third party Apps, you can dream on since you can't use the built in WiFi or the rear RayNet outlet for this purpose. You must purchase a third party NMEA 2000 to WiFi converter that translates the data to IP protocol. All this adds an additional cost to the system, when it could have been handled simply by Raymarine in the first place :( The graphic design of the faces (or PAGES) is quite boring and it is very difficult (if not impossible) to change to more attractive (alternative or third party) designs. Although this MFD does have an import page option (from an SD card) I could not find any link to a place where nicely designed pages are available for download. Raymarine could benefit from enabling users to change the graphics on the pages (for example the instrument gauges) if they had a download option on their website and a simple integration process in the Axiom. It would also be nice if it had an environment page that recorded wind and progress data was coupled with graph displays. Similar problems are present when dealing with engine and vessel general data sensors as well as WiFi cameras! The only camera integration available are the outrageously expensive cameras produced by Raymarine. In addition, when using Raymarine cameras, you cannot have a DVR! There is no USB or Bluetooth integration either! There is a problem with the SD card memory size as well. Raymarine recomends that the maximum memory should be only 8GB (totally inadequate for today or for the future). I've installed a 32 GB micro SD card to be able to store the Navionics charts and all the additional North American Charts available for download from Navionics, and the MFD started to behave erratically. At first, it worked fine, but then it would cycle through the starting screen several times and sometimes it wouldn't start at all. When it finally started, it was able to read the data from the SD card. I replaced the SD card with a very fast 32GB, (expensive and so far it seems to work). In conclusion, this MFD is very limited to what the "Gods" at Raymarine have decided they want the users to have, as well as mainly Raymarine hardware (which is way behind the competition). Integration with other NMEA2000 compatible hardware is very difficult and in most cases, impossible! Hopefully, a lot of these issues could be dealt with after the release of the next Lighthouse software...

great value for what you get. Must learn to dial it in.
when you get the settings fine tuned this unit is great for fresh and saltwater use. Up to 100ft depth

Smart choice!
This is truly a tool that WILL help you find fish quicker and catch more fish. Period. The display is bright, quick and intuitive. The more I use it the better I get with it. There is a learning curve but that's true with and of these new advanced fish finders. In my opinion you can't compare the features per dollar with any other brand. Fantastic

So so.
I have the axiom 9 with the 3D transom Mount transducer. I agree with the previous review about the 3d sonar is a complete joke. The downvision looks flat in rocky terrain. The sidescan shows little. The conventional sonar is nice and the Chirp paints a nice picture. I have tested all these modes while fishing in 70-170’. I purposefully displayed these modes while drift fishing on a reef through schools of fish and bait. The fish ranged from 4-30 lbs. some is the schools contained large amounts of fish where I got one every drift over the reef. The gps was ok after I went through a whole bunch of steps to change the settings to diffentiate shallow water and obstacles. Also had to connect to the internet to update. The transducer is huge. Just moved it for the third time first spot was too high. Second was too close to prop. Trying a third one now and hoping for Goldilocks situation. Mounting bracket is rusting already and transducer had a crack in it below where a barnacle attached.Honestly I liked my decade old lowrance better with the exception that it had a slow processor.Every time I go to the local marine warehouse I see the salesperson pushing the axiom. I want to go over and tell them my experiences and tell them that I think it is not with it.I would say look elsewhere as this one is not worth it.

All sizzle and no steak
Axioms are all show and no go. The 3D sonar is pointless like others have said everything is just flat. The Fusion Sound system "integration" crashes my Fusion radio. Engine monitoring is a joke. Barely legible gauge screen forces you to make a custom numeric-only screen. No EGT PGNs are available on NMEA 2000. It will not calibrate ANY other companies' sensors (eg Bennett Trim Tab NMEA1, Maretron, Lowrance, Oceanic Systems). The unit attempts to update itself even if it has the latest firmware. The list goes on. I purchased 2 7" Axioms in a bid to refit my bridge electronics. I should've done more research, these were a waste. But wait! It does have Netflix... with unstable sound.
