Smells GREAT! Easy, great Value, and they freaking LOVE IT!
I reluctantly try new dog or cat food for my pets. But lately my Boston Terrier Giggles has been having skin issues and has been ordered to lose weight due to a knee problem. She isn't over weight but the vet wants her lean to give her knees as much rest as possible. This sent me searching for food options. I thought that with this mix yourself product I could add more water and give her more in her belly so she'll feel full. The same principle as drinking a glass of water before a meal.Luckily Giggles isn't allergic to Chicken so I tried the Chicken flavor, Force, first. It is awesome. Plain and simple. They love this food. My other Boston Terrier, Rabbit, inhales food but with this I have to use a puzzle bowl to slow him down. The best part is obviously the high quality, pure food ingredients they use. But for me, the best part is the smell. NO MORE STINKY DOG FOOD! Dry, Force smells like a packet of chicken soup or Thanksgiving. The Beef Grain Free, Love, smells like Apple Roasted Prime Rib. No kidding. I decided to get the grain-in Beef recipe for my non sensitive Boston and my older Chihuahua who has no teeth--he was a rescue--and he only eats soft food now.Mo, the Chihuahua gags on water and throws it up so hydrating this little 4lb dog is a chore. But with Honest Kitchen I can make a soup out of his food and he gets much better hydration without gagging!Every flavor of the dog food I have tried has been a 100% hit in my home. The Grain In product is even a better value than any canned food I would feed my dogs before--like Blue for example.Feeding my dogs is a pleasure not a chore now. No more holding my nose or stinking up the frig with a half used can of dog food. Make exactly the amount you need each time. I have on demand hot water but when we went on a trip, a microwave cup of water is warm enough in 45 seconds to mix into the dry. Easy. Images included are of Love, the Grain Free Beef dog food: Image 1: Dry in bowl Image 2: Right after water is added Image 3: Three minutes later. I choose to add a little more water than called for for rehydration. Often you can see whole pieces of vegetable, fruit and other bits. One last bonus? Less stinky on the business end and less farts. My goodness how amazing. Walking the dog is even better now too!Thank you Honest Kitchen for making a product I feel good about giving to my family of pets. And just in case someone is thinking it--no, I was not asked or paid for this review. It is from my heart.

Good stuff, doggie approved
This is awesome food. Our rescue Lab/Beagle loves it. I mix it with another freeze dried veggie food and that is her total meal, 2x a day.

Best dog food I have ever tried, without a doubt.
I must have one of the pickiest dogs ever and so I was leery to say the least when I purchased this product. But desperate times call for desperate measures and so I broke down and ordered it. Imagine my suprise when Cooper not only ate it, but he wanted more. I am so happy to have found food from the Honest Kitchen, and although they offer a 90 day money back guarantee, I will not be needing it. Thank you!

A Fantastic Quality Food
My dog has more allergies than I can shake a stick at, I spent months trying out various foods and brands to find a happy balance between food and environmental allergies. I cannot say that this food has eliminated her allergies - she has dreadful environmental allergies that have been making her miserable since the first day of spring. Since starting this food almost 30 days ago, I've seen a slight decrease in her obsessive itching. Whether it's the food or the constant medicated baths she hates, who can honestly say? While I cannot yet fully judge the food as it relates to her allergies, I can say that this is a top notch quality food. My beagle starts salivating the second she sees me dip the scoop into the box. She's not good at patiently waiting for the food to hydrate, choosing instead to prance around the kitchen and whine at me in protest. Yes, it smells very fishy...but it's fish! Before this food, her fur was thinning and shedding horribly. Now, her fur is healthy, shiny, and light shedding. I do believe it was the allergies that was causing so much loss of fur. We can't go anywhere anymore without people commenting on how soft she is, "you must use conditioner!" or "I bet she just had a bath!" Nope, it's a good quality diet!I removed a star from the rating for one reason: it contains egg. Protein is on the list of potential allergy suspects and chicken is the most likely culprit. I'm worried that the egg contents may throw us off on the "fish only" diet plan. I do see HK now offers a Fish and Coconut food called "Brave" that does not contain any form of chicken. But at $117/month I'd rather drop her onto a homemade diet plan than shell out that kind of money. I love this food, but my wallet does not and is stretched as it is with Zeal. Compared to the thousands in vet costs I've accumulated since rescuing her in March, it's a small price to pay if it means long term relief for her, though.A final side note that I found funny: My cat will not eat this food (he's severely picky and only eats my homemade raw food), but he sure does love rolling himself all over the dog bowl. The bowl smells like a giant fish, so I would bet that's the reason for his wonky behavior. It's certainly entertaining. :)
