I do not believe that you are able to take the tray out, as it looks well assembled in the travel case. It could break if you try to remove it. Thank you!

I have not opened the package. But I can tell you the hair dryer does take two batteries so it must make noise and I am guessing it blows air as well. I am just not sure.
