Amazing saw for the money. Appears that it will go the distance.
Basically amazing. I have been using an MS291 and a CS-590 for several years. For the money, this machine is 3x as good for approx the same price. The build quality is decent, except for maybe the oil/fuel filler caps. 8/10. Right out of the box, it started on the third pull. I ran it for the first gallon or so of fuel with extra oil in the fuel. Starts every time on the second pull. My MS291 always takes 7 pulls. The CS-590 doesn't start. This thing cuts at least twice as fast as any of the others. I will probably need to adjust the carb, but no big deal. This is a heavy saw. Possible weak spots are the chain tension ... it feels like the machining is not super accurate. Also the metal on the bar nuts is not up to the OEM quality. Who cares? I don't make my living with this. I use it for a couple of hours a month to fell or buck or rip material too large for my other "rancher" type saws. We will see about the longevity. I suspect it will last. Being able to use/re-use 066 parts is a huge benefit. Also, the chain and bar were surprisingly good out of the box. Especially the chain. Near OEM quality. The bar might be slightly softer and wear slightly more than OEM...not sure. Lastly, the oiler migh be a little tough to adjust...but it seems to work and nothing is burning up or wearing out fast. All in all, this is a vastly better deal for my uses than a comparable stihl. Very impressive.

HORRIBLE SELLER (but decent saw after tuning)
Saw arrived damaged--the corner was broken off of the clutch cover, and the end of the in-tank fuel line was split with the filter rolling around inside. I asked the seller to provide replacement parts, and they argued with me for 3 weeks--first trying to get me to accept a small refund, second trying to get me to pay more money to buy a clutch cover from them that had a different (non-carbon fiber) finish, and finally over a week full of delays over Chinese New Year. As of this review **3 weeks after receipt**, the seller will not provide a tracking number for the parts and keeps saying a supervisor will need to be contacted and to check back in a couple days. If you buy this, realize you're on your own. That being said, it's a powerful saw for a fraction of the cost of the similar name-brand saw it's based on. However, it runs EXTREMELY rich from the factory, and the carb will need to be adjusted after it's broken in. I've been using it to learn how to cut slabs on an Alaskan sawmill, and with the factory carb settings, it takes over 2 tanks of fuel to get through a single 2'x6' cherry or oak slab with a brand new chain. Know what you're buying: if you're not mechanically inclined, this is not the saw for you.

Great value for the money
Can't get more saw for your dollar. This is a big saw. If you're inexperienced, know this is a saw you don't want to lug through the woods all day. This is more for milling, cutting stumps low, etc. If you are going to have one saw, probably shouldn't be this one.One mod that needs to be made out of the box is the chain adjuster needs a bushing added. The screw that moves the adjuster pin forward and backward doesn't fit into the case well on the back side. I cut a piece of brass tube to length and used that, works great now.I'm 3 tanks in on this thing, and it starts fast and runs strong.

Fantastic beast of a saw, but it does have its flaws
This thing is a beast, but needs a little bit of upgrade to be perfect! I am still rating it 5 stars however due to how much value is packed into this saw. It's a $1,600 saw for less than a third of the price. If you are going to get this saw order a set of OEM Stihl filler caps. The ones provided don't seal well without cranking them and will soon after explode on you.READ THE DANG MANUAL. The saw has a break-in period, the carburator is not tuned for full running speed out of the box and you should tune it after the first couple tanks of gas and it will be singing like a bird. This beast pulls my 36" bar through the hardest of woods.Their customer service was very helpful in replacing the filler caps as well (Even though I ended up just buying the OEM Stihl ones, but it's good to have them as backups)If you're looking for a piece of a saw with lots of power but don't want to break the bank, this is the pic for you, just give it what it needs and it will be your best friend.

get what you pay for ?
Was sent the wrong powerhead but assembled anyway, unable to get any tech support. Saw runs but has several minor issues. not bad for the money.

Plenty of power
Bought a 36 inch bar to go on this saw, it handles it with ease. Put in together fueled and oiled it up and it started after a couple of pulls. The unloader makes it easier to start. Would recommend a great value!!

Do not buy from Hustd
DO NOT BUY FROM HUSTD PARTS. I buy a lot of things and this is my worst experience ever buying something. I was excited to buy this but unfortunately I had a hard time finding non ethanol gas in my location. I finally found some a few months after buying this and when I mix and fill it up it doesn’t start! I clear it in case of flooding and still nothing. Now my return window is closed and hustd tools was no help and has terrible customer service. Now I have a huge non functional chainsaw leaking bar oil on my floor. I knew I’d have to upgrade some parts but I thought it would atleast start. Tank smelled like gas when I received it. They claim this is from testing if it was tested it should work! Also I had to assemble it, so how did the test it? Didn’t even have the proper screw to connect the bumper spikes. I had to modify a screw. Such a waste of time and money
