I am a new fly fisherman and planned a trip to Alaska for a silver salmon.I bought an Orvis 8 weight encounter rod and reel combo and the Adams built 8 weight combo. I began using the Orvis rod and reel combo thinking it would be the better of the two. Unfortunately the handle on the real broke the first afternoon. I then began using the Adams built combo are used it for the next five days and it performed great. On the very last day one of the islands came loose on one side. I was able to tape it and use it for the rest of the day. That was my last fly fishing rod and reel it broke just in time. I sent the rod and reel back to Adams build and they replaced it without question. Orvis gave me a little grief about replacing the real but eventually made good and they're real and sent me another one. I was very impressed with Adams build product value and guarantee. I will certainly buy another one when I need it.
