Game Changer!
Let me start by saying that I make cakes...custom cakes out of my home, but my cupcake game has always been a bit sloppy. No matter what I tried ( spooning, measuring cup, and finally settling on cookie scoop), I inevitably dripped on the pan and down the side of the cupcake wrapper and struggled to fill the cupcakes evenly. I saw this item on an Instagram video of another cake lady and asked her about it. After reading negative reviews, I almost didn't buy it, but I'm so glad I did! I filled it using the bottom opening using a bottling funnel as another reviewer suggested. No mess. Filling cupcakes was a dream! No mess. Yes, you do have to refill the bottle. Yes, when it runs out of batter it starts to sputter. Worth it to me! When I was done, I used a rubber spatula to scrape out the batter that clung to the sides of the bottle and measures 1/3 cup...but my cake batter was thicker than a cake mix, so you may not have as much left in the bottle. This has really changed how I feel about making cupcakes. My cupcakes were even and my pan was clean. The bottle comes completely apart and is super easy to clean...much easier than scrubbing baked on batter drips off my pan.

Best mini cupcake filler ever!
This is such a great product! I just used it to make my first double batch of mini cupcakes and wow, it was the easiest, fastest and cleanest cupcake fill I have ever done. I used Pillsbury Simply chocolate cupcake/cake mix. The consistency of my batter once fully whipped up was sort of like a loose pudding and man, did this cupcake pen pour it into the cups perfectly. I ended up mixing my batter in an over-sized glass measuring cup/bowl which had a handle and a little v shaped pour spout. The batter poured with no problem into the cupcake pen. Highly recommend, can't see why anyone would give this less than 5 stars.

Bought for pancakes & waffles...not muffins so much.
OK yes know there is a pancake one in an ugly kind of pinkish color...really anythng else might be better except for fushia:)))) So I compared both items on the enlarged pictures to compare the spouts. I could not see any difference in size and decided this would do just fine. I do not intend to write cute things with it. But it was a hit. My husband used it successfully to fill our finger stick belgium waffle maker without the usual over run messes. Oh it is a keeper and I bought two at the same time in case we want to make a double batch and keep one with batter in fridge for a day or heavens we actually decide to make a muffin. We do make our own buttermilk so perhaps some day we'll live dangerously and actually try buttermilk muffins. (We find most muffins on the sweet side for us. But with all the new and novelty recipes out there perhaps we'll find one that's better. I do make cornbread into muffins some times but my husband never does. Yes we both cook.) This is a keeper and we enjoyed it. Worth the mess of filling and have a funnel that helps with that too. We have dishwasher but rarely used...this washed up nicely and took a little extra time to dry so took a paper towel to finish up those few slow drops. We also got a pancake/muffin mix and release bowl at same time. Will use that for pancakes and it's plastic and silcone and seems to work better than the metal ones we have tried too. Over all this isn't for everyone...people who don't like anything extra to clean but for those who benefit from the extra help in filling a waffle iron or little cake or candy molds...it's very handy. Only one thing I wish was it was a tad shorter...or more stout...as it's a tad high to find a place in cupboard. I've got them on their sides over glass glasses we don't use all the time for now. Don't ever loose the tip or you'll have problems finding anything to take it's place.

Works for donuts, too
This thing is a lifesaver for mini cupcakes, and I was delighted to discover that it works well for donuts, too. It holds exactly 13 regular-size donuts worth of batter and makes filling the rings very easy. The last donut worth of batter will stick to the sides and not want to come out, so be prepared to remove the cap and extract it with a long, skinny, very flexible silicone spatula. I have a Chef'n narrow Switchit spatula and find myself using both ends of it for this operation. I first take the bottom of the cupcake pen off, use the larger end of the spatula to push the batter that is clinging to the walls down to the squirting end, then take the squirting end off and use the narrow end of the spatula to extract the remaining batter. It's not hard to clean -- take it apart, rinse it under the faucet to remove the remains of the batter, and chuck it in the dishwasher.

Super. Habe die Flasche zum Poffertjes Maker gekauft. Kann sie nur empfehlen. Leider passt sie nicht in die Spülmaschine, man kann sie aber gut mit der Hand spülen.

Good in theory but not in practice
I was hoping this tool would allow me to accurately fill cupcake liners and minimise the time I was wasting wiping batter from the back of an ice cream scoop. The concept sounded brilliant and I gave it a go tonight with one of my tried and tested cupcake batters. Oh dear, what a terrible experience that I will not be repeating.Firstly, although you can fill the bottle from the top and bottom, you either need a funnel or an incredible steady hand and liquid batter in order to do it without getting batter all over the outside of the bottle, your worktop and everything else. You can at least fill it up from the wider bottom end without it all coming out of the tip, providing you have the cap on, of course.I started filling my cupcake liners and although I had to press quite hard to get any batter to come out, it all seemed to be going very well and I started to think I could forgive the mess and waste in getting the batter in the bottle. However, by the time I was halfway I already found that it was getting extremely difficult to get the batter to come out of the bottle and squeezing just made blobs shoot out, rather than a steady stream. I could tell by this point that there was no way on earth I was going to get to fill all my liners using the bottle because so much of the batter was prevented from coming out or was clinging to the sides. This was using quite a runny batter, so I hate to think what it must be like with thicker batters. In the end I had to take the top off and slide a spoon into the bottle in order to get the rest of the batter out. Again this was very messy and extremely time-consuming. I bought this item with a view to it saving me time and mess. All it did was cause double the mess, cause batter to be wasted and take me three times as long as usual to fill my cupcake liners. For very thin pancake batters, or people who don't really care how much batter they can squeeze out, this bottle might be OK. For bakers, this is one to avoid.

Looks promising!
Haven't tried it yet but will very soon - I want to use it for my waffle maker. I think it will be good for putting the batter on the grids with more control and not overfilling....as I often do....sigh. This baby will be easy to clean, as well.
