Works great for my engraving fumes
Small enough for my work space but work great when I have it close to my engraver. I only use half the power and it’s made a big difference. I tested the filter usage, once it got pretty dirty, I washed it and reused it over as a test. It does Come with extra filters. The hose is sturdy but flexible to stay exactly where you want it to stay. Overall this is a good product. Worth the money. Only wish I would have gotten the next bigger size as I increase my machinery. .

Excellent fume extractor
I've tried the smaller fume extractors, and even at first had a "charcoal pad on a fan" ones. This unit has plenty of suction power as long as it is close to the work piece, which I've found is normal unless you buy an industrial-size machine. But I have not had to turn it up past 1/4 of the dial and it sucks in all of the solder fumes and I smell absolutely nothing. Unless you solder or weld a ton, the filters should last a bit of time, but replaements are pricey at ~$90. I'll gladly pay it to know all those chemicals from the rosin vapor are in those pads rather than in me!Overall a great machine, good build quality for sure. A bit heavy though so you might want to look at one on wheels if your going to be moving it from place to place.

Works Great To Clear Fumes
The media could not be loaded. This fume extractor does a great job pulling in solder and glue fumes. The filters work well, I don't smell anything coming out the other end. The flexible tube is stiff but easily adjusted, reaching all the way from the floor to the top of the desk. The box is small enough to fit under the desk without getting in the way. The unit is fairly quiet, but it does make some white noise in the background. A pair of noise cancelling headphones will do the trick. I definitely should have invested in one of these earlier. At the very least, this system keeps the fumes out of your eyes and lungs.Edit: The motor and control board eventually failed on my first unit within about 6 months. The company Fume Clear sent me a replacement unit and we got back on track.

Nice fume extractor
Works great. On lower setting it’s very quiet and captures all the soldering fumes.

Good product
This works really well for filtering laser fumes.-1 star for the annoying double beep upon turning it on or off. Customer support just told me this cannot be silenced. Poor decision on their part.

Solved my problem!
I cut a fair amount of shock cord and paracord using a hot-wire cutter, which creates a beautiful clean edge, but creates a ton of smoke and fumes making it impossible to perform this task indoors. Thus, I thought that I'd give this filter a try to see how it performs and it does a wonderful job pulling all of the smoke through its nozzle and filtration system when positioned directly above the wire cutter and set on the high speed. While it doesn't filter the entire smell of the cutting process, its high suction level and multi-level filtration system has vastly improved my situation by absorbing the nasty fumes/particles making it possible to cut shock cord and paracord inside.

Didn’t perform as described
I purchased this because it said it would be good for like salon environment. I do nails at home . You have to be very close to the machine for it to pick up any dust and as far as fume or odor extractor I could still smell the monomer really strong. Returning it.

This thing sucks!
I tempered my expectations, but this looked a little bit more suitable for electronics than the similar unit Dave from eevblog reviewed so I thought it would work in any case. From that video, I prefer this one and it's a great value. The build quality is high, size is compact for what it is, hose holds well and has two nozzles, sound level is fine, and it came with 10 prefilters (which they cleverly used as side padding in the package).I don't know how it compares to the $800+ units but I think the only major advantage of any other filter machine might be in filtration media which you could experiment with yourself on this power unit. It would be a massive leap up from those desktop fan things in any case.
