If you think you'll like it or are interested you'll enjoy it
Good book. I got the first 2 issues and stopped then revisited the trade and enjoyed it. Wasn't incredible but was pretty good. There's kinda like an 80's cop movie vibe, mystery, bland characters at first that are starting to get flushed out. Overall I liked it and hope vol 2 comes out soon.

Interesting and confusing at the same time
The art style depicting 1980s NY is great. Reminds me of the 1990s Ghostbusters cartoon, mixed with its own unique flavors. Found it difficult to understand the time paradox plotlines, for some of the characters. But loved the supporting characters, especially the concept of the NYPD in the future.

" The idea is neat and the art is great but the story was poorly executed
In the future, NYPD is made up by teenagers. One of the officers, Deyoung, goes back in time to 1986 to investigate a claim that the largest quantum mechanics company did something illegal that drastically altered the future. Only it doesn't explain what, exactly. This was one of those book where, after reading it, I read the description on the back and thought, "Huh. I didn't get that from what I just read..." The idea is neat and the art is great but the story was poorly executed. There's a lot of jumping back and forth in the story line and I think they made it more complicated than they meant to. I haven't decided yet if I will track down volume two in the future.

Not bad.
I like the read but how far can this go on? After 6 or 8 books, it seemed to be repeating the same stuff over and over. Rather fun at first but I thought it was headed downward at the end. Wonder where it can possibly go?

Thanks, Amy Reeder, for what you do!
Rocket Girl Comic Series is one you can't put down!! A week or so ago Amy Reeder asked fans to leave reviews on Amazon.com and I've been interested in reading it, yet hadn't.Thank you, Amy, for the post that finally made me get this trade. The art and colors are amazing (and something I'd never be able to accomplish in my own book) and the story is crazy good.Read the book and you'll thank me too.

It's really an excellent story and I can't wait to see where it's ...
It's really an excellent story and I can't wait to see where it's going from here. Really though, how could you go wrong with a time-travelling strong-female teen cop with ROCKETS? How could you - do you even know? It's taking longer than usual for the release of issue six so use this time wisely and buy it for yourself, your friends, your local library, random strangers on the street! Everyone needs to read this book!

READ THIS SHHH
Rocket girl is a really refreshing and exciting series! Volume 1 is light and funny, and sets the scene for a very promising sci-fi story.Brandon writes a really intriguing blend of action and mystery. And Amy's art, there's not enough I can say about it. She's one of the best artists, period. So if you love the 80s and futuristic sci-fi, you'll love rocket girl.

Really Fun
Rocket Girl was really fun, great artwork, and zany characters. Interesting idea of the future time traveling police being teenagers: small, dtermined, quick thinking, agile, and resourceful.

Something new for time travel fans
An interesting book. Fast paced and willing to play around with the idea of time travel in what feels like a fresh and interesting fashion. The main character, the Rocket Girl of the title is fun and the tone of the book overall is not that serious, which is definitely a good thing in this case. The art is pretty good and seems a little bit manga influenced though the overriding style is still very western. Seems to be aimed squarely at teens but is not too dumbed down in spite of this. Worth picking up and interested to see where things go from here.

Interesting Time Travel story
I really liked Rocket Girl, not just because of the great artwork. Its a cool and fresh teenage time travel adventure around the teenage cop girl DaYoung, called Rocket Girl in 1986 (the story takes place in New York City of 1986 and an alternate future of 2014).I'm not sure what's exactly going on, but for sure something is wrong about the dominance of the Corporation of Quintum Mechanics. DaYoung wants to prevent Quintum Mechanics becoming a juggernaut company above the law, corrupting everything. But they (who exactly?) also have their players in this Game ... and DaYoung is on her own, stranded in 1986.

Sci fi, time travel, enough said...
La historia de esta chica perteneciente a un escuadrón juvenil de policía del futuro, quien debe viajar al pasado a corregir errores del pasado. Suena trillado, pero la historia es muy creativa, distinta y con un nivel artístico que me encantó.

The 1980's called they want their rocket girl back!
It is always difficult giving anything a rating based of personal whim. For me, this was certainly style over substance - although I was expecting alot more in terms of its meaning, always thinking that I was not picking up on some little nuance and just not getting it.The thing is that there is nothing to get - It is a story based off the title. A slightly confused one at that. The style is definitely aided by the colour. The palette is vibrant and fresh and seems to bring the art alive. Similarly, the panel work also aided in trying to create the impression that things are moving at a fast pace. The characterisation suits the simple narrative of a girl with a jetpack - Each character appearing as they they are quirky and unique, having a possible backstory to them. Unfortunately, I could not connect with the title's main character and the uniqueness of the rest of them is artificial and half way through I was just waiting for the narrative to be resolved.Still, the artwork was nice, and it was all those little details that made it stand out.I also appreciated the sample script at the end and would certainly like to see what the creators could do with something less cliche and more honed.
