Paramount 1919F1 French Gallow Candlestick retro phone

Very nice phone. Received last week and had a multi-hour conversation on it yesterday. Handset is comfortable (at least for the first hour or so) and audio was good on both sides of the conversation. An added bonus--Paramount has evidently changed the coiled handset to a cloth cord (which I happen to much prefer--I just wish they'd do this for all their reproduction phones). I've found that the Paramount phones aren't quite the quality of the Crosley ones, but they have many more styles to choose from. Anyway, this phone is as nice as it is depicted and has a nice weight to it. In researching this style, I found that the original was called a French Hangman phone--and it looks like Paramount did a very nice job of reproducing it.

I've had this already a year, and already I can't use certain numbers. Also, it may be me, but I found it way too easy to hang up the conversation.

This was a gift for a person who had mentioned they would like to have one. It's attractive and fun. Wanted it for conversation piece and fun to use. :-) Perfect!!

Looks great in our bedroom. Works well too.
