An excellent product.
I do travel photography and carry at least 3 different types of cameras on each trip. This implies that I have to carry 3 different types of battery chargers. These chargers, together with the cables and plug adapters take up valuable space. I am looking for a universal charger where one device can charge the 3 different types of camera batteries. I need the universal charger to be robust and reliable but yet compact. As it is an all purpose device, I expect a degradation of performance in the battery charging.• Battery might not be fully charged• Takes longer to charge the batteryI have found the “unbranded” chargers difficult to use – fiddly to make good contact with the battery for satisfactory charging.I tried this universal charger (a black plastic case 10 by 5 by 1.5cm). The contacts are adjusted by handles and the battery is held tight in position by a slider. The device automatically detects the appropriate voltage and polarity. There is a LCD panel which provides information on the charge status: Voltage, % charged, current applied (mAmpH) and the time charged (in hours and minutes).ProsCharging indicator – It provides the number from 0 to 100%. The fully charged battery was checked by placing the battery in the original charger.Accept many types of camera batteries. I have Lumix and Fujifilm X cameras. Could not get to charge the Olympus camera battery. It is small and compact. Occupies less space than the 3 chargers combined. It uses power from a USB cable. I carry a multiple USB port to charge other equipment. Therefore, there is no need for extra equipment.ConsHave not found any yet. Please refer to the photographs1. Charging a Lumix battery from 0 to 100%.I took the battery from the camera and fitted it in the charger. This battery was “flat” as the camera could not operate. The readout gave a 0% reading. Within a minute when I took the picture, it was reading 25%. The battery was fully charged at 100% after 2 hours and 14 minutes. Quite a reasonable time when charging a battery from 0%. I checked this battery with the original charger, it confirmed that the battery was fully charged. The original charger would have taken about 2hrs to full charge the battery.2. Thoughtful designThe battery charger is essential for the continued use of the cameras in a travel photo shoot. I cannot afford any malfunction or damage to this essential piece of equipment. There are 2 external contacts that make contact to charge the battery. Therefore, the metal contacts are essential to the operation of this battery charger. Should they be deformed or damaged, this charger would not work. These metal contacts can be moved with the handles below. When the charger is not in use, these contacts can be moved under the slider for protection. This minimises the chances of potential damage.Camcaddy2 - Compact Universal Camera battery charger. Exactly what I have been looking for. I would certainly recommend it as a Universal camera battery charger.

Handy universal charger
Love this! I got a digital camera from 2007 with a really awkward battery to find a charger that wouldn’t burn a hole in my pocket. This charger was cheap and good quality, displays battery percentage on a screen so there’s no guessing and charges quickly :) happy out with it

Doesn't work with professional Nikon batteries on D4 or D5 cameras
I bought this to charge batteries in the field. I have the Nikon D5 with EN-EL18a batteries and the Nikon Z7 with EN-EL15b batteries. Works fine with the latter but then you can charge these through the camera anyway. Didn't work with the EN-EL18a battery for the Nikon D5 which was the main reason for purchase. Unless you have batteries with connections flush with the bottom, it is unlikely to work. Will be a return to Amazon I'm afraid.

Does exactly what it's meant to but a little slow
Pros:- Really does work with many different battery types- Both USB and 12V inputs- Feels solidly builtCons:- Slow to charge compared with official mains charger- Percentage display is a bit hit-and-missI ended up using this as my main charger on a recent trip thanks to the airline "misplacing" my luggage. It's deceptively simple, just a couple of movable contacts and the power inputs. For some reason the manufacturer doesn't seem to have posted a compatibility list but it really did charge many different types I tried - Canon 5DMk3, Canon 5DMk1, Nikon D7000, a Nikon compact and a Minolta compact.I saw only a few minor downsides; first, the USB connection was dodgy and needed cable wiggling to get it to stay powered up. I'm assuming this is a one-off problem because there don't seem to be any similar reports, and am awaiting a replacement. Second, the charging time was pretty slow when compared to an official mains-based adapter, even when running from a mains USB converter or a car 12V source. A full charge on a Canon LP-E6 took around 3.5-4 hours instead of about 45 minutes on a genuine Canon mains charger. Last, although the charger has a "% full" display this was rather random and changed dramatically depending on how firmly the battery was pushed against the contacts. It's not a problem, the batteries were all fully charged and the camera confirmed 100% charge, just be aware that the "% full" is an indication rather than an absolutely accurate measurement. In summary, it's near perfect as a travel charger - it's light, can take power from common sources and really does charge just about any square-type camera battery. Just make sure you leave more time to charge than you might expect.

Camcaddy2.
I'm a keen photographer and own quite a few digital camera's, the trouble is that means many different types of charger. In fact I have a whole drawer full of battery chargers I have to sort through every time I want to give something a boost, that's why I decided to get the Camcaddy2. Maybe I'm just lucky but it seems to charge all of my camera batteries, and by all I'm talking dozens of different sizes, brands and voltages no problem with any of them. The manufacturers mention it will not work with batteries that communicate with the camera, and I assume that's the kind of battery that must be brand specific to the camera. I can see no reason why any camera battery shouldn't work in this charger be it intelligent or otherwise. At first I tried using a simple 12v power supply to power the device and did notice the supply got fairly hot, that would indicate a fair bit of current is being drawn. I then decided to use an old laptop power supply which had more than enough power being switched mode and that kept quite cool. Some camera batteries will draw several hundred mA of current when on charge so a small plug-in wall power supply wouldn't be man enough for the job.For that reason I refrained from using USB and am sticking to a decent power source just in case. Overall a very handy bit of kit, well recommended.
