Not quite perfect but not bad
I purchased this TV and I have had it for about a month so far.The main reasons that I wanted it was to replace my older 42" smart Sony TV which although it was only three years old the Sony TV was not up to standard as it was not 4K and only had "Demand 5" and "BBC-i Player" as catch up TV apps and the screen view was drastically reduced when watching wide screen films (huge black bars at the top and bottom of the screen). Also "BBC-i Player" had a fault which caused it to crash out with memory problems (a common fault as it turned out with Sony TVs when I looked in to it).Anyway my new "Panasonic TX-50EX700B" TV.After unpacking the TV and other contents from box I looked at the four different feet/stand configurations and decided on how I wanted it to be set up and then screwed the feet in to place with the screws provided which was really quite easy to do before mounting the whole thing on to an oak cabinet and then plugged the power cable, aerial and HDMI cables all of which I was able to do on my own with no one else to help me lift or manoeuvre anything (Easy). The TV is made of quite a sturdy metal construction and gives the impression of good quality and looks well in my living room.Switching on for the first time the TV asks for your Internet Router to be connected which is easy enough to do followed by the other set up bits like scanning for TV Channels as you would expect followed by an on screen how to use guide which I then exited and went to the TV channels.WOW the picture is great especially the HD channels and I was really impressed.4K Youtube videos and a 4K demo that I found on BBC-i Player look crystal clear and amazing.Even my Blu-Ray player films look good.I have read many of the other review on Amazon which say that the TV has poor sound quality.I would disagree to some point as I don't think that it is as bad as some people have made it out to be.The sound in not 100% perfect as it lacks a certain amount of depth when playing heavy music or watching films where you would want to feel really immersed in it though the sound is more than adequate for watching other programmes such as the News or Documentaries. The volume of the TV is quieter that my old Sony TV which had to be turned up to 20 where my Sony would have only been turned up to 15.I did notice a difference between the sounds of the TVs when I first switched on the Panasonic and I think that people complain about the Panasonic's sound quality because it is new and different and not because there is a problem with it and they will probably get used to it and not even notice over time.It is also possible to connect to a sound bar or a stereo amplifier with additional equipment if required.I also have a Panasonic DMR-PWT655EB Smart Blu-ray Player which is combined with a 1 terabyte hard disk drive recorder which can to some extent be controlled with the TV's remote control which I have found to be extremely useful.I have also purchased a "Digital to Analogue Converter" (DAC) box in order to connect the TV or Blu-ray/Hard drive recorder to my stereo hifi amplifier and this works quite well. The Apps generally are ok and there is a store to download additional Apps though these additions are nothing to get excited about and I don't know how often this store is updated. The good standard Apps include "Youtube", "BBC-i Player", "ITV Hub", "All 4", "Demand 5" and "UKTV Play" though for some bazaar reason "UKTV Play" is kept in a separate section from all of the other main Apps (Amazon prime and Netflix are also included within the main Apps section). All Apps load and run perfectly smoothly over my 70mb Virgin Media connection. The TV "Guide" button on the remote control gives access to the TV guide which is powered by "Freeview Play".This is useful as it is possible to go back and watch programs from the week before providing that they are supported by catch up TV Apps by looking through the list of what has been on and simply selecting the program that you want to see.The TV guide also shows what is currently on as you would expect. The only faults that I have with the TV guide is that I cannot skip up or down a page at a time (unlike my old Sony) and I have to press up or down repeatedly through the channels on each page until I get to the next page.If I am currently on a channel in the higher numbers say channel 45 and I want to see what is on channel 1 later and I go in to "Guide" followed by pressing "1" the TV changes to channel 1 from channel 45 when I just what to view the guide and not change anything. My old Sony TV let me view its guide and kept me on the same channel unless I deliberately pressed the "OK" button to change. The other things that could be better is that if I press the "Guide" button to bring up the guide I would have to press either the "Return" or "Exit" button to exit the guide as pressing the "Guide" button again doesn't do anything. The other thing that I find lacking with this TV is that like most other TV manufacturers this TV does not support Bluetooth Headphones. WHY!!!One other thing that I find a bit bazaar is that "Audio Description" is switched on when you first start using the TV.There I was watching "Alien Vs Predator " which I have seen before and there was a voice describing what was happening on screen.I thought to myself that I didn't remember this happening the last time that I watched the film so I went through the "Options" menu and found that I could disable "Audio Description" quite easily luckily. All in all I like the TV and would recommend it.The Picture Quality 5/5The Sound Quality 4/5The Apps 4/5Usability 4/5

Quality TV
Panasonic is most trusted electronic company and they make reliable/durable/trouble free products. My house has below Panasonic products and they are still working perfectly.1. Stereo cassette recorder ( Japan) - bought in 19802. Steam Iron ( Japan) - bought in 19923. Stereo boom box (Malaysia) - bought in 19904. Blender ( Taiwan) - bought in 2004Previously I owned Panasonic 42 inch 3D TV but the panel was IPS & gave it up. This TV has VA type panel probably sourced from Innolux which make 58 inch size panel in 2017/18. I have owned all top branded TVs such as Sony, Samsung, LG, Toshiba and Sharp. My present TV is 50 inch Sony full HD 3D TV which also has great picture quality.I compared you tube 4K video clips on this TV and my Sony full HD TV with VA panel side by side. I kept quality of you tube video as 1080P on both TV as I have to compare apple to apple. Panasonic 4K screen produced lovely bright pictures than Sony full HD TV. This does not mean Sony is bad, actually I must compare with SONY 4K TV.Most of the budget 4K TVs integrated with IPS/PLS panels. If anyone has no issue with off axis viewing angle, better to go for TV with VA panel that gives high contract, deep black level. Almost all 43, 49 TVs are integrated with IPS or PLS panels. Even Sony low end TV uses IPS type panels. 2018 Panasonic FX models 43, 49, 55 must be IPS whereas 2017 models such as EX700 & EX750 (40,50,58,65 size) use VA panels. All budget 4K TV sets advertise HDR 10 capable but they do not have hardware to produce HDR 10 picture on 4K screen & they take HDR input signals only. As a results HDR picture may be worst but this TV has wider color gamut to reproduce HDR 10.ProsPremium looking TV, body constructed with metal bezel and sturdy stainless steel TV standsBright, very clean, pin sharp, lovely natural colors in good sourcesColors on BBC earth full HD blu ray discs are awesome, absolutely better than full HD TVVivid blue, Red is noticeable in digital TV mainly in the newsroom programsYou tube 1080p videos produce vivid colors than full HD TVTV displays an incredible 4K resolution, beautiful colors and bright natural images with inky blacksVA panel gives high contrast, uniform panel & deep black levelGood LCD panel - no back light bleeding, no clouding, no banding issue. Nowadays most of the consumers complain about back light bleeding and clouding issues of LG TVs/IPS panels.Fast & easy operating system. Better than Sony android operating system which is very slow.Sound is more than adequate for watching programmes such as the news and documentaries.Good Connectivity - Optical, Wi Fi, 3 HDMI, 3 USB, Smart FunctionalityHuge 58 inch TV - better in this price rangeConsPicture is not very good when source is low quality. I think standard definition is not great on any 4K TVs and up-scaling of poorer quality content you may be better off with a full HD model.Perfect TV if there is Bluetooth functionality but can't complain with this price range
