Bosch AHS 70-34 Hedgecutter (blade cover, cardboard box, 700 W, 700 mm blade length, 34 mm tooth spacing)

For me, this replaced a Bosch battery powered hedge trimmer that I’ve had for about 5 years. The battery powered one was good for what it’s designed for. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and great for light-duty work like just trimming the leaves on the hedge, but failed on the larger jobs by constantly jamming and having to charge/replace batteries before the job was finished.I wanted to not just ‘trim’ our hedges, but cut them right back to gain extra garden space. The battery powered trimmer had no hope.We have about 60 mtrs of 7ft hight, thick hedge and the new AHS 70-34 goes through it like a hot knife through hot butter. Even the larger branches, no problems whatsoever. It’s unbelievably powerful by comparison to my old battery powered trimmer.I managed to cut back the hedge in no time at all, gaining about half a metre of extra garden space on all 3 sides. It’s wonderfully easy with this bit of kit.I noted a few people recommending a socket RCD breaker based on their experiences of cutting the cable. I already had one and followed the recommendations, despite me grinning to myself about ‘these novices’ and their carelessness.Sure enough, on the trimmers second outing, I cut straight through the cable and had to repair it. Luckily, the RCD did it’s job and cut the circuit, meaning I wasn’t fried.GET AN RCD BREAKER! YOU WILL CUT THROUGH THE CABLE!!! *hangs own head in shame*One final note, I’m a fairly big lad in my 30’s and I find this hedge trimmer to be pretty heavy and have to take fairly regular breaks to rest my arms, especially when cutting above head-height. This is worth some consideration before purchase.All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend this trimmer if you have lots of large hedges that need cutting back and not just the leaves trimming and aren’t concerned about the weight. It’s amazing!

After considerable research I bought this to replace a similar spec, roughly 10 year old, Flymo trimmer (no longer available). The previous machine had been great for the job until it failed irredeemably after years of heavy domestic use. Although similar in length, tooth size and power, so far this has proved to be more manoeuvrable , is lighter by almost a kilo, and without doubt more efficient than the previous machine. It is sufficiently light to allow a safe longer reach and less fatigue, and as another reviewer has said, it cuts through quite tough hedging like a knife through butter (in this case mainly hornbeam). It has produced much neater, even, trimming and a very pleasing effect. Certainly the time taken to cut my hedges has reduced considerably. Just beware that its cutting power can cause you to take off more than you intended! The controls I have found quite easy without getting tired keeping the dual switches on. I have a long-reach petrol trimmer and this electric one appears to be as efficient if marginally less manoeuvrable. As this was only bought recently I can't comment on its durability, but hopefully can rely on Bosch build quality to prevail. So far very pleased – a pleasure to use.

I've only used it twice, so I can't comment on long term reliability. but it does look and feel to have the expected Bosch quality. The cable is long and the trimmer has a long reach and makes short work of bushes and hedges, which is just as well because it's heavy. The two hand interlock make if quite safe regarding personal injury to hands, but it would be very easy to cut through the cable (a potential hazard with all "mains trimmers"). The electric "switches" have to be gripped tightly, which is good for safety but very tiring. It's superb for trimming bushes while standing on the ground (remembering to put the cable over a shoulder seems like a good "cable-safety trick"). But using the trimmer up a ladder is too dangerous. I have done the ladder work on my main hedge, but I used my usual manual shears as they are much safer.

I ordered this hedge cutter, and it arrived less than 48 hours later. I have been using it all day today, and have decided it is a brilliant piece of kit. I hate gardening, and restrict myself to grass cutting and hedge trimming. This tool has dealt effectively with about 70metres of 2 meter high mature conifer hedging today, and taken it in its stride. It cuts through everything like a hot knife through butter, and leaves a very tidy finish. It is a bit heavy, but once you get the balance point right the weight disappears and it just gets on with the job. I thought was last hedge cutter was good, but this is way better. Did I mention that I hate gardening? Well, cutting the hedge today was so quick and easy I am almost looking forward to the beech hedge tomorrow......almost!! If you are thinking of this product, get it - you will not be disappointed.

I'm very pleased with my Bosch AHS 70-34 Hedge cutter. It cuts through some pretty tough stems (1 to 2cms) and is light to use. It replaced a petrol cutter which was impossibly heavy and very noisy.To prevent me cutting through the power cord I have put 4ft of foam pipe insulation over the cable and secured with cable ties. The insulation is about 32mm diameter so it doesn't slip inside the cutting blades. There are plenty on nicks in the insulation so show it's doing its job as a cable protector. It looks a bit clumsy but in use it keeps the cable under control.If you do this mod then be sure to double back the cable at the plug end to prevent the insulation slipping down the cable. If you do cut the cable its no drama. It just stops. It is then very easy to open the cutter up and reconnect the cable at the terminal block inside.I also bought a Highgrove tripod ladder which is amazing. If you're not good with ladders then it's the way to go.

La compré pensando en que quizá no iba a poder cortar las ramas más gordas de las arizónicas pero nada más lejos de la realidad. Las ramas de unos 2cm las corta sin más y a partir de ahí, si es muy grande quizá te cueste algo más de tiempo, pero no se resiste ninguna. Muy contento con el precio y el rendimiento de la herramienta.

Imballaggio poco curato. La parte motore in imballo originale bosch da cui fuoriesce la lama avvolta in un semplice cellophane che la espone a urti e torsioni. Abbastanza insolito per Amazon. Il resto tutto positivo

Die Heckenschere ist mit einem 3-Pin Netzsteckerversehen. Somit nicht für den Deutschen Markt.Dies hätte man besser ersichtlich machen sollen.Der Rückversand ist dann Sperrgut!!!! Also Teuer.Und man bleibt auf den Großteil der Versandkosten sitzen.
