James Martin Compact Food Processor ZX835 [Energy Class A]

I am so very disappointed by this food processor. Bought to allow me to make home prepared food for my baby daughter. I will summarise the problems below:(I have to state first, my jug is broken now because the cutting unit in the bottom sheered off when the plastic jug attached around it broke! - I've had it less than 2 months old!)* The cutting blade when attached has a gap, so when you push the veg down to be sliced or grated or whichever side you use, it gets trapped between the blade and the edge of the plastic jug - so you then have to fish it out! It becomes quicker to hand chop!* The plastic attachment that sits in the top of the processor that you feed food down... is wobbly, so when you use the pushy plastic bit to shove the veg down it, it rattles and comes out a lot!* The jug blender... the well underneath the blade is very deep, so you have to continually fish chunks of food out to get it blended.* To start the motor the blender jug has to be locked on the frame, however as the bottom unit is round there's nothing to hold onto whilst you push the jug around and into place - couple of times I have turned it on by accident! When the blender is in full swing it often pushes the jug out of a locked position, thus activating the safety shut off... I thought it was broken once already!* The suction cups are useless, tiny, they don't hold onto anything, so you can't take you're hand off the blender, ever, when it is in motion.So all in all I am VERY disappointed by the quality of this unit. It has a cheap feel, doesn't really work very well and I am pretty sure it's never been tested properly before James Martin's name was slapped on it!

I was really impressed with this for a few years and then 3 years down the line the jug bottom broke and leaked. The plastic clips holding the blade hub in place snapped. Now another year later while using the food processor to pure cooked beans the central stem smashed into four pieces and the blade top melted. I'd only had it on for about 10 seconds. I really hoped that it would last, i take good care of my appliances and didn't over load it. I guess this is the way products are designed to keep us buying more.

Finally a decent Blender/ Grater / chopper.Been looking for a decent cheap chopper and grater for some time and not tried anything that was easy to use and clean and of a decent enough size to do some bulk chopping of ingredients for soup, bolognese sauce etc. I have arthritis in my hands so was keen to find a solution.So far after 2 weeks of use I am very pleased with this one.My son is a chef and is now thinking of getting one for himself now he has used mine. The Blender is also a nice addition. All easy to clean and have had no problems at all with it. Great buy for the price.

I am in the process of returning the first one the mechanism was defective . I have received a replacement only for it to be exactly the same as the first one!Have now got to return this... if l was James Martin l would disassociate myself from this manufacturer. Needless to say I will not be buying this product again.

Arrived quickly and well wrapped. It does everything I expect so far and saves me a lot of time chopping/grating./blending soup. Trying to eat healthily so haven't tried cakes or pasty.This is a compact processor so is probably not ideal for a family but for 2 it seems fine.

Although associated with hair products, (Wahl), I was a bit dubious to check this product out but I am sure glad I did for it's compact, neat and tidy with the most important part of all, EASY to use.I take my time when purchasing anything and I resourced quite a number of food processors before hitting upon this one. After reading the scope, power and motor size I snapped this one up whilst it was on offer.The quantity in both the bowl and jug units are plentiful and the change in usage between the two are a breeze. As for the dreaded cleaning, a blast. . . . Happy cooking folks, I am. . . ;-)

Great little Food Processor - the only real problem is that the main blender bowl is not practical to be put in dishwasher as it would hold water during the wash cycle. But for that I would have given the extra star

This was ok. I did imagine it to be a lot more snazzy. Its a bit of a nightmare trying to grate cabbage for coleslaw and often the cabbage does not grate away. This is an ok food processor but definitely far from the best i've used. I bought it primarily to make coleslaw and it has let me down - this will definitely be given away in due course as I have stopped using it.
