Recommended - Perfect for any situation
I bought this monitor primarily for gaming and video editing. I've only just received it and I'm currently still testing it out, but so far, the results are impressive. It does exactly what it says on the tin, or rather should I say the cardboard box.The screen is very vivid in colour without any mode adjustment, with default set to 100% brightness and 80% contrast. Because I already own a 5:4 monitor (I know), I was able to easily adjust my original monitor to match the settings on the ASUS monitor. The colour match is a bit off, but it's not bad considering that my 5:4 monitor is at least 10 years old.Back to the ASUS monitor. For the price I paid (£126.49), it's a tough competitor to all those in the same price range considering its abilities and its size. The frame isn't exactly frameless, but it's pretty close to the edges. The menus are easy to navigate - just press one random button on the bottom (any, except the power [bottom right]) and the menu pops up for you (which is extremely convenient). Also, the buttons are not labelled as they change as you go into each menu.I doubt the "QuickFit" mode will be useful to me as I only intend to use it with my desktop PC which has a NVIDIA GTX 750 in it (max res with this monitor - 1920*1080).One function that may be useful for me - in particular for revision - is the timer add-on provided in the GamePlus mode.If you think that it will be hard maintaining the sanity of going through all of the menus to find your perfect mode, then fear not as you can specify two quick-access buttons that you can press twice to enter the mode or function you desire.Luckily for me, this monitor arrived perfectly packed and so far there are no dead pixels. But I'll be keeping the box just in case.Onto the stand..The stand is perfect, although I won't be using it in the future and instead will be using a desk mount. It allows for a reasonable amount of angle adjustment and does not take up too much space, but has enough weight and surface area to ensure that the monitor does not fall over. Assembly of the stand is easy - there is only one thumb-twisty-thing screw to use and does not require a flat-head screwdriver, however there is an indentation so one can be used if needed. One important thing... Built-in speakers...The speakers are tiny and I would not recommend them at all for any serious work. But, they are ideal if you want to quickly and hassle-free share something (e.g. a video) with other people.Onto the contents of the box...* Lots of polystyrene. Definitely needed in transit considering some of the couriers attitudes to keeping customers parcels safe.* A EU plug. My monitor was made for the Netherlands the label said. But I doubt that to be true.* A UK plug. I was worried that this wasn't included but it was there, deep in the box.* A DVI cable. How generous! Black cable but with creamy-white connectors. Yuck!* A VGA cable. Luckily I won't be needing this as I'm already using my VGA port for my 5:4 monitor.* A 3.5mm Aux audio cable. I'm using this to output the sound from my computer through the monitor.* Instruction manual + warranty card. Will be needed if there's any dead pixels. And for those who wouldn't prefer to just start pressing buttons.* The monitor + stand.Although I don't have any good background experiences with different monitors, I must say that this monitor is the best that you can get (for under £150). It fits nicely alongside my other monitor and the PC, and does not take up too much space.Recommended whether you are into gaming, colour work or editing - or not! It's cheap enough but powerful enough to be used in any application.Pictures and video to come soon, with an update along the line.

Seems good, no faults out the box
Ordered this one for main purpose of gaming, but in my haste I ordered the wrong size..was going for 27”. Irrelevant for this review anyway. I am actually still waiting for the pc to arrive so I tested the monitor by sharing screen with my laptop.I didn’t notice any dead pixels and the picture looks quite nice and crisp. I don’t really like how they did the buttons for options and config but that’s a minor nuisance (this is my first Asus monitor). It came with a load of cables, all except the HDMI, and I did get both power cables (EU and UK) so that’s great. The package was very well packed - the original box which already comes with great protection inside was enveloped by another box with additional paper filling so it was very well protected.Since I haven’t had the chance to try it on an actual Pc and gpu to see how games look this review issomewhat pointless but I felt like writing it anyway.Oh and it does have a speaker, nothing extravagant but at 100% it’s more than enough for watching movies or YT videos especially in a quiet room.4 star rating is because of clucnky UI controls but otherwise I think the monitor is great for the price.

Great value, good connectability and very well featured for the price.
Delivered promptly and a very good price. Bought two of these as I use a twin monitor set up in my home office, and one of my trusty philips monitors croaked, meaning I needed to replace both, really. These have a full array of connections available - i.e. VGA, DVI and HDMI. Connections are made vertically from below on the back in a recess, and not at 90 degrees to the back of the monitor, so fine for wall mounting if preferred (VESA mount spacing is 10 cm square only). They also have in-built sound, which although pretty weedy, is fine for office use and the odd video, but not for serious music listening or gaming purposes. You can switch the monitor's speakers off if preferred, in favor of speakers fed from you PC, or run both together. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it is at the rear with the rest of the connections. The monitor uses a mains cable with an in-line transformer block, but the both cable to, and from the block are reasonably generous in length. Mine came with DVI monitor cables, but I've heard of others coming with HDMI. I bought a 2M HDMI from Argos for just £6.99, so don't let this put you off. My only gripe is that font wise, even having used true-type corrections in windows to optimise text for myself (I do wear glasses), the text can, on occasion in certain programs, appear not as sharp as it was on my old Philips monitor, but when it does occur, this is not dramatically so; I'm just being a tad hyper critical for review purposes. The Monitor also has a facility to reduce the inherent blue light bias in all these types of monitor, which is very good and certainly reduces eye strain, particularly if you are viewing after dark. If you view your monitor over long hours this is a very helpful feature, and you can adjust it through several levels to suit your own preference, or turn it off altogether if you want. The image can also be adjusted for the usual brightness, colour, contrast, illumination level, etc. The monitor, although claiming an edge to edge screen, actually doesn't have this. There is 1cm black "gutter" evenly around the screen, despite there physically being virtually no bezel. The stand is smart, stable enough for purpose and goes together easily. You can tilt the screen for angle back and forth, but not left to right - you'll have to angle the monitor and stand to do that if need be. The screen has a matte non-reflective surface and very good viewing angles. I have had these for a few months now, and I've found them to be very good value for money. I couldn't comment on use for gaming, as I'm not a gamer, though I believe ( from other reviews) that the screen has a 5 ms response time. To summarise, whilst all these reviews are, by default, to some extent subjective, I'd suggest that you'd be pretty hard pushed to get this combo of features at this price elsewhere. A good all round use day to day monitor.
