Easy to use hair clipper that paid for itself in a short time!
If you're like me and want short hair without the fuss then this is ideal! With it's rotating hand grip, and rechargeable battery it's great for a quick trim - short back and sides and that sort of thing. Don't get me wrong, it's not a replacement for a good trip to the Barbers, but with practice, it can ALMOST be as good. I tend to have a 3 cuts with the Clippers to 1 Barbers cut ratio, just to make sure my hair is blended and thinned out on top as it gets quite thick. At £30 that means it's paid for itself in the cost (or savings as it stands) of 3 haircuts 3 weeks apart. Not a bad return really. The picture shown is my most recent effort with the Hair Clippers but do bear in mind I've had about a years use AND PRACTICE with the Clippers, so I am perfecting my cutting style over time. I use 2 mirrors, to see the side and back of my head, and take about 30-40 minutes each time. The rotating hand grip is great, especially when I trim the LHS of my head, as, being right handed, I struggle with precision in that area. My best advice (what works for me in other words) is to use a long blade guard, say 11-13mm about an inch or so above the ear and go right around my head. Then work downwards round my head adjusting the blade lengths shorter as I go lower, 11-13mm, 9-11mm, 7-9mm, 5-7mm, 3-5mm,etc. This minimises any Do It Yourself Clipper disasters, as it's unlikely you'll create a wedge if you follow this method correctly, and any errors will be no worse than some of the awful cuts I've had AND paid for! Battery life is excellent, and I've not had any guard breakage, as mentioned in other reviews. It did come with some oil for the blades, but the instructions say the blades are self-sharpening and I haven't felt the need to use the oil (yet)? If you just TAKE YOUR TIME and don't attack your hair like Sweeney Todd the first couple of times, your confidence in cutting and your style will be fine! If I can do it, any bloke can! Just check out the photo! 5* Clippers from a well respected (by me) brand.Update: 27th June 2020 - I'm aware that many folk will be looking for good quality hair clippers especially with the Covid-19 lockdown. I've included a 2nd photo (using a mirror) to try and show how my haircut looks at the back. I've now decided to cut out the Barbers altogether when lockdown is finally over and go solo with respect to cutting my hair. I just wanted to demonstrate that it was possible to replace those costly haircuts and put yourself in control, and show that my clippers are still going strong - every 7-10 days in fact!
Had thorough search and several purchase cancellations of other hair clippers before finally purchasing this little cute clipper.Grip:Grip is ideally good of this clipper as nicely snug all over palm allowing its very sharp edged cutters to run smoothly through thick sticky dusty oily whatever hair type you plan to use it on.180 Roataion:It rotates nicely with firm locking dial to suit the need of your comfort while trimming off hair from any angle you desire.Hair Combs:Now have numerous feedbacks read of people complaining about fragile plastic made combs that broke partially. To be honest, i was bit concerened until i have it all in my hands and these feel fairly sold but bit tricky when attaching/de-attaching knowing the fact that this is different technology based clipper that rotates 180 degree angle hence the combs are slightly modified likewise. All i say is that not your regular clipper combs, be gentle when pulling combs out or putting back after completely familiarizing with "how it should be" you won't ending up breaking any bits hopefully.Charging/Battery time:Clipper was charged when i firstly took it out of the box hence i put it on charging maximizing to full.27 minutes and white light stayed on that is indication of device fully charged (refer to product guide provided). Had it on for 37 minutes or so and it didn't fail to impress with its powerful motor performance. Don't exactly know how long this first charging will last but hopefully you got an idea of good battery sign. Blinking white light looks nice.Waterproof:Can i just stop praising enough of this little monster? No, not yet! Apart from immersing it in drowning level water. You can wash the whole device including combs under running tab. I will try it under shower next time when my hair grows back. Make sure you dry it all completely before storing until next use. Charging adaptor MUST stay and rest on the dry couch while enjoying watching clipper family's pool party :)Tiny Bottle of Oil Included:It says zero maintenance and "no oiling"on box hence provided therein a tiny oil bottle in the packaging. I am confused as what to do with oil came along with a device that needs no oil at all. I will use it anyhow!.....on my bicycle pedals.Bits you might be missing:No Carrying Case/PouchWhat else? What else?I am not paid by Amazon OR Philips from any extent. I just so like the clippers and Amazon's good delivery service that i wrote it all here. Finally, this is STRICTLY Head Grooming Device and No Nose, ear, eyebrows trimming.I highly recommend to buy.

Excellent clippers
I have purchased these in the past and lasted ages, actually still running. They have the ability to rotate the head to different angles. I don’t use the often as they are just pretty small, ergonomic and easy to hold. The battery lasts pretty well, usually for a few cuts. What I love is the adjustable clipper combs. You get 2 interchangeable, one is grade 1-3 and the other 3-12 I believe. I find it much more convenient. Just rotate the collar and it adjusts the grade. Saves having to change and store a bunch of individual combs. They cut cleanly, I’ve never had them tug or yank my hair. Actually use them even to clip my stubble when it’s got too long for the electric shaver.Only reason I’ve taken a star away is because the combs are a bit fragile. My last clippers still work but the small clips that hold the combs in place broke off and actually split between the combs of the larger one. What really peeved me was the price trying to find replacements. If they had been a few pounds this would have been a 5 star product but at over 10 I couldn’t justify it. Seemed better value at the price to just buy a new set of clippers. If this has been helpful, a thumbs up would be appreciated :)
