Finicky, yet fantastic!
I've been working professionally with cintiqs for about 7-8 years (the 21UX, wacom penabled laptops, and later on the 22HD) but needed something beefier for home, than my otherwise trusty old Intuous 3 A5.When I first recieved the Huion GT220 V2 I was worried about the build quality. The backside had some rather large cast marks in the plastic, and the way you screw the stand into the back seemed unrefined. However, when I got it upright, it was fine and stable, and I suppose if you care about cast marks on the backside, you wouldn't be reading reviews for the cheaper alternatives. The front of the product seems just fine, but the included screen protector flaps a bit about and is clearly taped on in the corners. I'l leave it in place for now, but probably won't be replacing it once it falls off or is worn out, as I don't mind the smoother surface of a glass display.I spent an evening with the recommended driver and did not end with a success. I could not get the cursor to match the pen, which jumped from one half of the screen to the other. No amount of fiddling made any difference. I followed all the instructions religiously, making sure to uninstall all wacom software, shut down everything and install the huion driver before plugging in the USB the first time. I however still noticed windows doing its own "recognizing" thing in the bottom right corner. The following evening I found a bunch of drivers for the GT 220 V2 (8K version) that seemed newer, and I tried uninstalling everything and running the newest driver for that, and bam, just like that, everything fired up. I had a great run with Krita and Photoshop that evening. Beautiful responsiveness, no lag, parallax is on par with cintiq, was able to extend the desktop from my laptop and to the Huion and the screen toggle on the pen works beautifully. Certainly things are different. The pen seems a little bit "mushy" and the screen (might be due to the screen protector) is slightly less vibrant and clear than I had hoped. But to be honest, so are the cintiqs. When it works, it's no worse than wacom, just ... different. This might be a bummer if you're as used to the Cintiqs as I am, but only if you can't cope with change and need things to be exactly as they've always been. But again, then you wouldn't be looking here, would you? Then on evening three, Photoshop lost pressure sensitivity and Krita wouldn't display the canvas in extended mode. I was able to "jump" pressure in PS through the windows ink setting in Huions driver, but it didn't seem to adhere to logic. Sometimes it works when Ink is ticked off, sometimes when it's ticked on. And Krita is fine when the desktop is duplicated. This seems to sum up the deal. You get a product that is inherently finicky due to the software. But at moments, it fires up on all cylinders, and it's every bit as great as everyone is saying! I still hope I'll find my own magic settings that just works without fiddling. Not too long ago I had to set up a used 21UX on a newer machine, and it was just as much a hassle as this has been. BUT, a 22 Huion is a QUARTER the price of a 22 Cintiq, so if that's a priority for you (and I'm guessing it is, since you are here reading reviews) I absolutely recommend it! Even though, I can't give it a perfect score. At least not yet.

Great drawing experience
I received my GT-220v2 about a week ago and already after an hour, I realized I love this device. I was cautiously optimistic after having seen both glowing and skeptical reviews and I can happily say that it has far exceeded my expectations. I can not compare it to a Cintiq because I have never drawn on one but it certainly holds it's own compared to my surface pros (both the first one with a Wacom digitizer and the third with an-trig). To me the pressure sensitivity feels better, there is slightly more parallax but it doesn't bother me at all. The biggest advantage is, of course, the much larger screen, I did not fully anticipate how much nicer it is to draw on a big 21+ inch screen compared to the 12 inch surface. The stand that comes with it does the job perfectly but I mounted it on a movable arm instead to have some more flexibility in positioning.I have only tried Sketchbook Pro with the screen but in that piece of software everything works like a charm. There have been some reports of driver conflicts with Wacom drivers and I can confirm that on Windows 10. I have an Wacom Intuos pen and touch installed and when installing the Huion drivers I got an error that the installer can not delete wintab32.dll. I manually deleted it and re-ran the installer and then everything went smooth as butter. I keep the Intuos as a touch pad next to my screen and in that fashion, they cooperate perfectly. Keep in mind that I intentionally did not uninstall the Wacom drivers before installing the Huion because I wanted to use the Intuos as a touch pad, if one uninstalls the drivers before hand I would guess there is no problem with Wintab32.dllSome people have reported that the screen gets hot after some use, I have yet to experience that even after 4-hour drawing marathons. I do use the included glove though so perhaps I just don't notice it through the glove.Pros:Excellent pressure sensitivity and accuracyPen is of comfortable thicknessMuch less diagonal line wobble (pretty much non-existent) compared to n-trig technologyThe included screen cover gives, IMO, a more pleasant drawing surface than drawing right on the screen so it is a nice touch that it is includedSize is luxuriousScreen is bright and vibrant with clear colorsThe stand that comes with it is fully adequate.Calibration was almost spot on out of the boxCons:Not to sound like a fanboy but as of right now I can not think of any. Based on my experience I would wholly recommend this to anyone that wants a pen display. Everyone say it is good quality for the money, I would one up that and say it is good quality period! The only thing that would improve the experience would be if the screen was also a touch screen but with a programmed Numpad next to the screen one can easily rotate, zoom and do whatever even without touch.

The tablet is very good and useful and defo helped with better drawing
The tablet is very good and useful and defo helped with better drawing. colours on the screen was okay how ever im not sure how to colour calibrate it properly. the stand is nice and low so some one as short as me can use it comfortably. I was worried about the stand as it mainly supported the centre but the side are mostly menu bars so it doesn't matter.Pros:much cheaper than a Cintiqdecent for people who want a monitor tablet but not want to buy an expensive oneIt weighs the same as a laptop.it comes with 8 free pen nibs as well as the glove and screen protector.very easy to set up.when not using it can stand almost 90 degrees and use as a 2nd monitor.definitely good for animation and illustration especially if you are better at traditional monitor tablet is best for you.Cons:You have to calibrate the screen every other time you turn it on which is annoying but its tolerable since it doesn't take more than 10 seconds to do.theres no button so it's hard to use short keys but theres always keyboards anyway.for me the pen nibs comes out very easily a small pinch and it can come out but that might just be my pen.for Imac you will have to buy a hdmi adaptorscrolling with the pen can be hard.tips from me:wear the glove to reduce hand mark and prints.invest in some glass cleaning to keep it dust and oil free.explore you comfy angle of drawing for me its 50 degrees and belowbe aware of your posture and make sure you arn't hurting your back and neck.make sure your desk can is big enough.
