Huge planets

My Solar system loving three year old adores these but be warned they are massive! Unless your child is equally space obsessed then these are better off in educational settings with a bit more room. He plays with them a lot however.

Big rip in Uranus

The media could not be loaded.  Uranus is diffective. Big rip in it. Had to add some tape over the rip so my son could enjoy it for a bit. Very dissapointing

Excellent Colourful Solar System Display

Love these planets. After reading some reviews about missing ones and some deflating I still risked it for a biscuit. I wasn't disappointed. Blew them up for my classroom as our first science topic in September is space. I love them and I know my class will love them. They are all roughly to size, with a giant sun in the centre and there is also the earth's moon too. Sadly I had to pop poor Pluto back in the box, what with him not being one of the main planets anymore (if you grew up before the noughties then this concept is very confusing I know, but it's true!). He larger ones are quite heavy so you defo need sturdy string or wire to hang them, I've gone for clear fishing wire to give them the element that they are floating through space...we shall see come September whether they've all fallen down! Haha! I received all the planet's etc as advertised, the colours are much brighter in real life than they are on the box so don't be put off by that. The foot pump was 'okay', a bit small and plastic...I blew a few of them up with a mixture of the pump and just blowing them up with my mouth. This is probably the most arduous part. The sun however...I used an electric pump otherwise it was taking FOREVER to pump up. Definitely recommend.

Great for stimulating engagement in solar system topic!

This is a great learning resource to stimulate enthusiasm and engagement with solar system topic work. The inflatables are not perfect - the scale is a bit skewy and the detailing quite minimal, but I think there are other good resources for conveying that information. For me, these inflatables are great for getting kids moving in the classroom - arranging themselves into planet order, demonstrating orbiting and so forth. I was happy that the set arrived with a pump which worked to blow up the inflatables reasonably efficiently. There set also includes a guide to some basic facts about the planets, suggested activities and some charts showing diameter, mean temperature, distance from sun and how to represent their distances from each other.

Faulty one planet not sealed at seem and leaking air

This was purchased as a Christmas gift so I am so disappointed that the quality was not checked. I will be requesting a replacement.

Excellent value for money

I brought these for a nursery, and they are a great way to learn about space. The children love them. They are strong and easy to inflate.

Great durability

Grandson is mad about planets and kept asking for this (he has several other solar systems). Was doubtful after looking at price and other reviews and knowing his tendency to destroy toys not knowing his own strength (ASD) but he can throw this about and it’s not going to break!…. Just buy a decent foot pump because the one that it comes with didn’t even last blowing up the moon!!!

Ideal learning resource for both parents and teachers.

Nice set of planets for the price. You don't require a brain to realise they're not to scale. The supplied air pump is a bit flimsy but it does the job. The planets are detailed with basic identifying features such as the great storm on Jupiter, basic outline of continents on Earth etc but you have to remember that these are inflatables, not a detailed OS map of each planet. As mentioned they're not to scale, but I don't see how anyone could expect them to be.The ring of Saturn can 'flop' a bit but it's a minor issue. Again, it is an inflatable planet kit, not an orrery. Each planet has a small loop so they can be suspended from the ceiling. I think it is a nice touch and allows the user to suspend the planets from the ceiling if they so desire. To give an idea of size, Saturn is roughly the size of a basketball.I highly recommend the set for parents and teachers wanting to spark the imagination of their children/students.
