Quality blades I’m a DIY person and these are great value for money

i have a Bosch PST 800 PEL 530 Watt Compact Jigsaw which only comes with 1 blade for cutting wood. i needed a blade for cutting a piece of thin metal sheet. this set includes blades for both wood and metal and was for a good price. the metal cutting blade got the job done. my only complaint so far is that the latch on the box is difficult to figure out and in the process of opening it, i broke it. now i have a piece of sellotape to keep the lid down.

I'm perhaps not the most qualified person to review a set of jigsaw blades, because not only have I never bought a set before, but I don't even own a jigsaw! I bought this set for use in my Leatherman Surge, which comes with a handy blade exchanger that accepts Bosch standard t-shank blades like these in place of the metal and wood saws that come with the tool itself.In the rather fetching plastic case you get 8 blades in all, 2 for cutting metal and 6 for cutting wood. The metal blades are identical, with close-spaced teeth and a 5cm cutting length. The wood blades come in 4 different flavours:-the first two are fairly thin with close-spaced teeth and a 5cm cutting length for wood 2 to 15mm thick;the second has a brushed metal finish, with close-spaced teeth and an 8cm cutting length for wood 3 to 30mm thick;the third is identical to the second except that it has a painted finish and slightly more aggressive teeth for wood 4 to 50mm thick;the final two are the thickest with the most aggressive teeth and also an 8cm cutting length for wood 5 to 65mm thick.Being that none of the blades has been used in an actual jigsaw yet, I haven't had the chance to put any of them through rigorous testing so can't say how well they'll stand up to hard use. What I can say is that, in typical Bosch fashion, they feel pretty tough and the larger ones certainly have very little `bend' in them. In fact my only criticism is that none of the blades bears a mark of any kind so if they hadn't come in a Bosch case I wouldn't have known who had made them.
