If i make this unit operate off a light switch will it resume last setting or would i still need to use remote

Mine holds the last settings only use the remote if i want to change colours etc Have it off a switch the same as you want Hope this helps

I have purchased this with 2 rgb-cct garden lights but when i have looked at the app, it says it is not compatible with the ibox2. do i need the ibox1

They are compatible with iBox2 if you bought the Milight RGB-cct garden lights. please select the right remote controller in the App and link it with your RGBCCT lamps

My old remote broke. Can I just buy a new one, or are they paired individually to each receiver?

You can pair the remote yourself with as many lights as you like. Buy the replacement abs pair it to your unit.
