Really nice additional piece of kit
I purchased this after getting the main system once I had got used to where I finally wanted things.I relocated the main control unit to another part of the house so that I could see the zone triggered if activiated at night. This meant that I simply had to put this near the front door. Very simple in operation in that if armed, you press the green button then your PIN. You will hear the main control unit beep and then it is disarmed. Same goes for the yellow button "at home" and the red "away from home" button. There are not any sounds made by this unit but there is a small LED that indicates when you have pressed a button and when it is communicating with the main panel.About 4 inches in diameter, it is hinged at the bottom so like a clam-shell. You easily fix it to a wall with the two screws provided. When you pull the flap down it reaveals the control pad which again is really well finished. This unit can be removed and carried about like a remote and the main white case is a holder for the grey unit. Both being well made and shiny blend in with light switches or central heating manels. Hold the red button down for a few seconds and it'll trigger the alarm in "panic" mode.A great buy.

It works now.
My old door sensor broke. Changed the batteries, no good. Not working at all. Purchased a new one off Amazon. It arrived fine. Today having looked at the instructions connected it to the alarm and the door however the alarm was showing a tamper alert. The sensor worked fine but the tamper signal would not clear. I took the new one off and compared it with the old one and discovered the problem. On the tamper switch on the sensor there should b a small spring. It was missing from the new one. Thankfully I was able to get the spring carefully off the old one and fit it to the new one. I refitted the new one and bingo it works and the tamper alarm on the panel has cleared. So glad I kept the old one. Quality control where made slipped up I think. Keep an eye open for this issue. Overall It now works as it should. Great.......Be well all.

Good, neat addition to an excellent system. Some reliability issues.
I was pleasantly surprised when this keypad arrived; although the circular housing seems a little large at first (slightly smaller than a fully stretched hand) the keypad inside is neat and well designed. It integrates well with the Yale alarm system and all of the buttons match up clearly to the base unit - the advantage of using this keypad instead of that or in addition is that there is more freedom of placement and a smaller box to mount on the wall.I should point out that the pairing process, unlike the rest of the Yale gear, is not altogether straightforward with this. For some reason, instead of just pressing a button combination once the base is in pairing mode, this requires a special code to be entered, followed by a sequence of buttons to work through some sort of menu. However, this is clearly explained in the manual. Presumably the inclusion of this menu indicates that there may be some extra functionality that is not documented, but I have not yet investigated this. One gripe I do have, although it is not unique to this product, is that there is no easy indication of when the unit is well within or well outside range of the base station (and there is as yet no extender available). This, and the fact that the communication between this and the base is completely one-way means that, on occasion, I walk through the door to unlock the alarm, enter the code on this keypad, the light flashes, but the base does not respond (even on the keypad that is right next to the base - I now have two). Usually repeating the process unsets the alarm, but I would like to see some improvements in the reliability of this connection. However, this is a general issue with the entire system and its resolution would require a significant extra layer of complexity. All in all however, this is a great product - well built and behaves exactly as you would expect and want.
