Big Problem with MacOs High Sierra
Big Problem with MacOS High Sierra. I've used Toast for years, and never had issues like I'm having now. The first release of the software would not even install on High Sierra. The second installs fine, but won't burn a DL DVD. It will burn CDs fine. I've contacted Roxio, and am working on solving the issue. The agent I have been working with is not very knowledgable and wanted me to do all sorts of unnecessary things.Note - I worked part time for Apple in my youth, so I am not a novice. The problem has been escalated to another agent. Will see what happens there. But, as of now - It doesn't work properly with High Sierra.I purchase this from TheSoftwareDepot. My advice is not to buy from them. Because of my issue, the promised me a small refund, even said it was mailed. Of course it never came and my eMails to him have not been answered. STAY AWAY.Edit - I have changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. Since MacOS 10.13.3, including 10.13.4, Toast 16 is now working as it should. The reason for only 3 stars, is the product support at Roxio is atrocious.

A Farewell Toast
I've owned copies of Roxio Toast since before I can remember. V6 was my favorite. The last version I had that wasn't too buggy I think was 9. 10 started having issues, and every release after that seemed to introduce more bugs than it fixed. Sadly, Toast 16 doesn't buck that trend. It worked in OSX Yosemite, but in High Sierra it is pretty much unusable. While it tries to stay relevant with software that allows for live video capture, most Mac don't even use optical drives anymore so much of what made this useful software goes out the window. Unless you have an older Mac running an older version of OSX, and have a CD/DVD drive either built-in or external, and have a specific need for it, then I wouldn't bother with Toast anymore.~ Kort

Pricy suite of video and audio apps offer little guidance but do work well.
I have been a long time user of Roxio Toast. Back in the day when CDs were your most effective storage medium it was a great tool that I used often. It also could create a DVD pretty easily but then Apple had their own DVD app and it was even easier to use. This version does not do Blu-Ray, and with the high resolution of today's phones I would still be interested in making a Blu-ray of my movies. Oh well. Today the key to conversion is streaming so any app worth its salt must be really good at capturing and converting. I used the Toast Titanium app to convert some videos for YouTube. The built-in YouTube conversion only works to convert and upload, plus you have to use their predetermined conversion. I suggest creating a custom YouTube Ready conversion with some of the Toast settings but customize your own.My biggest gripe is the box this comes in lists on the back Burn & Copy, Capture & Edit, and Convert & Share. You would think that would be the names of the apps included; sorry, but no. What gets installed are 8 apps and it not clear what you are supposed to do with them. The box makes no mention of them nor offers guidance. There is not even a slip of paper inside with the names of the apps and what you can do with them. The apps are DiskCatalogMaker, Live Screen Capture, Multicam Capture, MyDVD, Secure Burn, Audio Assistant, Slice, and Toast Titanium. It was frustrating that even after you open an app it is not immediately clear what it is supposed to do. I eventually figured it out but I should have to hunt for such basics. As a teacher there are some neat apps for me. The Live Screen Capture would be good for lecturing and demonstrating something at the same time. The Audio Assistant is a quick way to record sound on the Mac but it has the annoying property of highjacking my sound from the Apple Monitor to my Mac Mini tiny speaker. Quitting the app requires going to the Sound prefs to restore the sound output.Multicam Capture has no help or obvious record buttons so I am not sure how it is to be used. DiskCatalogMaker is little changed from 1993 and I am really not sure why I would even want to use it. The directions give no help on that point.MyDVD is an easy way to make a DVD which I guess is still a good format to send to Mom. It is easy to use and has a variety of built-in themes.Overall, there are a variety of better app available for these functions but Roxio does put them together for those who don't want to hunting. I had no crashes, the apps open fast and worked well on my 2014 Mac Mini with 10.12.6. However, be sure you know what tools you actually need before purchasing. If you already have Toast 15 I doubt you should upgrade unless you need to.

Does NOT work with Sierra or High Sierra !!!
I had it on my iMac with High Sierra and it was absolutely impossible to get it to even open up the application reliably. So I tried moving it to my Mac mini with Sierra (the predecessor to High Sierra) and it's not much better there (and yes, I have updated it to the latest version available from Roxio. Next I'm going to take it to my OLD Mac mini and see if it cooperates under El Capitan. But at this point, I'm not holding my breath.Roxio has released yet another update, #4867, that claims to have solved the High Sierra issues. WRONG! Toast 16 STILL locks up during program startup causing you to perform a "force quit" to shutdown the unresponsive program.

Good, but I liked the Windows version better.

Pretty useless.
This used to be a go to product for me. Not anymore. It really isn't fully compatible with Mac High Sierra. It takes 7 minutes to load the program after it it has been closed. Apparently it loads my entire iTunes Library before opening. Support from Roxio/Corel is spotty. They keep telling me to create a new admin account. I find this unacceptable. IF the program works, any program, you install it, use it, and forget about it. This is no longer the stone age when you launch a program, go get a cup of coffee and come back to see if it opens.

A waste of my money
Does not perform with my desk top Mac Pro. To burn a disk with Toast 16 using iTunes I have to match songs from the 16 list, lo to burn a norma albim. There is no artist to select under their Artist column totally blank. While it works properly this way it is a pain to go thru hundreds of songs to match an album I want to burn. Roxie makes solution more difficult than it has to be. A waste of my money.
