Pleasing, and does what it says...
Does what it says on the box. It's a decent-sounding amp/receiver, with (at least where I am) effective DAB reception. I use this for the TV and a Mac Mini I use for media.It's at the 'budget' end of hi-fi, but serves me well :) One thing to note (as another reviewer mentioned) is that it comes with a non-UK power cord. As I have a stack of these collected over the years, this wasn't a problem. But something to be aware of.

Very happy but for the unlit controls
Sound is great, build quality seems very good, DAB radio works well with enclosed aerial (sp). Some controls aren't it; can't see in a dimly lit room hence 4 stars

EXcellent sound, But problems storing DAB channels!
The sound is excellent, although I am disappointed to find that whilst reception of FM and DAB transmissions is fine, there is no way of storing DAB channels. I regard this as an unacceptable omission. I have a Roberts portable radio with DAB+ and channels can be store for both FM and DAB. Why is this not the case with my Pioneer receiver.

This item is to replace my previous tuner/amp. However this exceeded all my expectations. The sound quality is first class, I like a 'dry' sound (although you can select different settings for your own personal taste.) and this delivers my music i.e. Pink Floyd Mark Knopfler, Genesis etc. to perfection.Thank you Pioneer for a first class piece of kit!Steve Poulter

Poor quality
Dab not easy to use. Makes a huge cracking noise when needle first touches the record. Thought it was just me until I read the other reviews!

Excellent receiver.
Excellent receiver for the price. Aerial is a F type connection which caused some initial confusion but soon sorted so I could connect to my FM array. DAB reception seems to be good and exceptionally easy to switch between DAB & FM. Lots of FM presets but doesn't seem to be available for DAB which might be a disadvantage but as I mainly use FM, not a problem, Sound quality seems OK to me.

Excellent quality at a good price.
Great price for an excellent unit. I needed a new amp with a dedicated Phono input after getting a new turntable. The sound quality is excellent and the DAB station coverage is impressive - I have other radios that don't get all the advertised DAB stations for the area. I guess it's what should be expected from Technics.
