Royal Canin Dog Food German Shepherd 24 Dry Mix 12kg

My vets put me onto this brand, and I have to admit, at first I was fairly reluctant to feed a complete dry food. My trainers / breeders have always recommended tripe / fish as the main bulk of diet. My first Shepherd had an incredibly sensitive stomach, and we tried several of the more expensive so called 'top brands' which went straight through her. She was doing reasonably well on a diet of Coli mixed with a hypoallergenic dry Kibble (Wafcol), but every time she got anywhere near her appropriate weight, she would have a week or so of uspet tummy, and any weight we had gained fell off her. She remained under weight (too skinny) for at least 3 years, we had blood tests, samples, antibiotics, pro biotics etc etc. I swapped her onto Royal Canin Hypoallergenic on the advise of one of the senior vets, which at the time was presecription only, and was expensive. It turned out to be worth every single penny, and I would have happily paid double for the effect it had on my bitch. She loved it, and it loved her, she got up to her ideal weight within a few weeks, and stayed at it. Also I noticed her behaviour towards other dogs mellow completely, before she had always liked some dogs, but not others, but for the remainder of her life, she never had 'words' with another dog! At some point along the way, the vets were unable to supply the Hypoallergenic feed when I needed it, and they supplied me with Royal Canin German Shepherd as the alternative. I was aprehensive about the swap over, but needn't have been. I had enough of the normal feed left to introduce the new feed properly, and was very pleased that it continued to have the same effect until the end of her days (and that it was also considerably cheaper, and available to buy in shops). My second Shepherd went straight onto the Shepherd Puppy feed, and has followed the diet according to age ever since. She is a 4 year old Black long haired German Shepherd and looks absolutely stunning. Coat, teeth, eyes and ears are all clean, shiny and healthy, and she is certainly a happy dog. We get stopped daily on our walks with other dog owners commenting on her fantastic condition - the diet obviously suits her. I'm a firm believer in you get out what you put in, and if you put cheap nasty rubbish in, thats what you'll get out! Incidentally for those that are interested (there will be some that relate to how important the following info is) stool consitancy is good, and twice a day!! I also supplement with a low dose of Vetvits flexijoints which is a glucosamine and chrondroitin tablet, as I am fairly paranoid about HD (this is also in this food). Whenever I have ordered this item from amazon, it has arrived within the next two days. I haven't found it cheaper anywhere else, and it saves the hassle of struggling to carry a 12kg bag of dog food to the car whilst hanging onto a 4 and 2 year old child!

Competitive pricing most of the time, and a great product. The only food my dog consistently would like and eat, whether it was dry or mixed with meat or something wet. Star shaped as well to fit shepherd teeth, always made me laugh as it looks like big star shaped biscuit cereal. No bad smell, and my dog was very healthy and maintained a good weight eating this stuff. Beautiful coat, plenty energy but never hyped up like some dog foods can cause.

My boy has to have special food so I have to be careful so far this has been okay with him if I gave him something else it would upset his stomach

Tried 5 or 6 dry foods and a few canned varieties and our G.S.D Kaiser just couldn't keep anything in, the stools were soft to very very loose and sometimes like water. After a particularly bad episode Kaiser had been to the vets and was on a diet of chicken,scrambled eggs and rice. Why tried him on royal canine large breed and noticed an almost immediate improvement but occasionally over the course of 2-3 months his stomach would still get upset but nowhere near as bad as before. I came across the German Shepard specific by chance on amazon. I can honestly say it's been fantastic for Kaiser and we mix it with a little wet food some tripe or a bit of tuna or chicken. His coat looks great, he's got bundles of energy and seems to be a more contested dog. Honestly say it's the best thing for sale on amazon ....... if you have a German Shepard I really wouldn't give them anything else !

I have just rescued a German Shepherd who was underweight and more than a little stressed! I kept her on the food from the shelter, but she was a little picky. We tried mixing it with a couple of others, before I read the review about this food. What a change. She no longer picks at her food. She has put weight on, her coat shines and because of the size of the kibble, her teeth also look cleaner. She is much happier. I now have one very chilled German Shepherd.PS I also swapped our Jack Russell to the Royal Canin Jack Russell food, and he too gobbles it up. If they like it, it's worth it!

We have owned 3 German Shepherd dogs and have always fed them on the Royal Canin brand for GSD. The breed we have found can be a little fussy when it comes to eating, but we find our dogs to get through it no problem.It's not the cheapest product, sometimes we will buy a Costco brand and mix it in to give a bit of a change and reduce the cost a bit.We have also found with Royal Canin that it keeps our dogs digestion correct and less prone to upsets.

Prompt delivery. Good product. Never had a problem with the supplier. Would recommend highly for both.

I have an 8 year old German Shepherd dog called Sabre who has a very delicate digestive system. He has been fed on Royal Canin from a puppy. Any deviation from his diet results in sickness & diarrhoea.I have owned two German Shepherds in the past and neither suffered with digestive problems, unfortunately Sabre does. I have found the Royal Canin GDS food suits him and luckily he loves it. It is expensive, but his health comes first.I always keep a tube of Pro-Kolin in the cupboard for the rare times he does have an upset stomach..

It's good dog food

comence usando este producto a sugerencia de mi veterinario hace aproximadamente 15 años para una perra que tenia displacia - deje de darle las pastillas especiales (ya que el pienso lo llevaba) y le fue muy, pero muy bien. Por supesto, se lo estoy dando tambien al perro que tengo ahora, tiene casi 10 años y sigue estando saludable y agil. lo que tambien he notado es que los dientes estan sanos y creo que es porque ha comido este pienso desde muy joven. LO RECOMIENDO! ademas, les gusta!

IL PRODOTTO IMPIEGA ALMENO 30 GG. PER ARRIVARE, MA SONO SODDISFATTO SICCOME FINORA LE SPEDIZIONI SONO GIUNTE PUNTUALMENTE A BUON FINE ED IL PRODOTTO NELLA MIA ZONA E' IRREPERIBILE.

このフードに変えてからウチの犬がお腹を壊さなくなりました。もうこれ以外は考えられません。(o^^o)

Je donne cet aliment à mon berger allemand depuis 6 ans, parfaitement équilibré et digéré. Reste un peu cher mais à recommander. Problème avec Nettfuter il n'y a pas de suivi de commande !! Si bien que le produit n'arrivant pas j'ai du acheter d'urgence un autre produit en supermarché, dommage.
