A cut above a the rest
So glad we made this purchase, finally made the jump to battery and will never look back. The lawn mower is lightweight and easy to use, great for large and small lawns. Batteries last well and last long enough to cut my large lawns. Now I can buy the other ryobi tools to add to this.Cuts really well and highly recommended

The item is coloured yellow-green because it is a lemon, and it totally sucked
As I have previously purchased Ryobi ONE+ kit without a problem, I was happy to buy this item without first reading any reviews on Ryobi lawnmowers, but this was a big mistake. I have since read the reviews on Ryobi lawnmowers, and I have found that they fall into two broad categories - they either work brilliantly, or they are total lemons. This one was a lemon. The box the item was delivered in was huge, too big for me to move, so I cut it up with a carpet knife to get the mower out of the box. This was my second mistake,as now I did not have a box with which to return the lawnmower. The lawnmower looks quite substantial, but it has a flimsy and very plastic feel to it. The starter levers are extremely poor, very flimsy and a bit loose. The starter button does not have a good 'click' or feel to it.I read the instructions and fully charged the batteries. I put the actuator key in, and started the mower. It didn't start at first, so I checked everything and repeated, and then it came to life. I pushed the mower across the grass, which was dry and fairly short as it was last cut a week ago thanks to a neighbour's mower. I turned towards the house to get to my starting point, and the mower cut out. It had run for about 45 seconds at this point.I restarted the mower, and it ran for approx 5 seconds before cutting out. I tried to restart it again, but it was dead. It never ran again.I am now left with an 'L' shaped line cut across my lawn.I recharged the batteries, as the lights on the mower indicated that they were now dead - 4.0AH batteries dead after less that a minute's use! I was very surprised. I recharged the batteries and tried it again this morning, but the lawnmower is still dead.I'm very disappointed in this item. I am returning it and asking for a replacement item, on the basis that the odds are low that I would get two lemons in a row. However, if the second item is defective then I will ask for a refund.

I ask a lot of it as I do not have a nice flat lawn
Works well, although the motor stalls if the grass is 5 inches high. I ask a lot of it as I do not have a nice flat lawn. If you do and you want it for maintaining a lawn, you will enjoy the freedom of go anywhere wireless electric mowing, and the motor is fine for regular maintaining of a lawn on flatish ground. Mine uses 2 4aH batteries and lasts a good hour, more if the ground is flat and the grass 3-4 inches high. Easy adjustment of cut height and large grass collector.

Good mower for short dry grass but will not cut a lush lawn
The mower worked very well over the summer when the grass was dry, very light and maneuverable. Hopper is a bit small and doesn't fill full. The batteries last for more than enough time to cut my 40 by 10 metre lawn. However the mower refused to work for more than a few minutes after a 2 week holiday when the grass grew longer, it kept cutting out then not restarting. It is now being sent back for a refund as it is not up to the job of cutting my lawn

Excellent but falls short in important area
Positives: Lovely looking, well built, ergonomic, battery technology which lives up to expectations, (200m2 lawn) with 2 bars still remaining with the supplied batteries. Very clever use of 2 batteries hence the name "Fusion". No problems starting up and cuts the grass nicely, I tend to cut grass every 2-3 weeks so its easier to maintain, it took care of this level of growth no problem.Negatives: Poor grass collection (yes, the muncher plug was removed and was mowing dry grass). The mower advises the grass catcher bag is 50L however simply no point as it catches grass to fill only 1/3rd or at best 1/2 of it. The rest will just be left on your lawn. On the other hand if you want to mulch, I am also struggling to say this works well. Mulching is meant to cut grass and leave it so that it is spread over the lawn area, with this mower it just leaves the grass to the sides meaning there is far too much built up grass which will either have to be raked up or will look messy is left. My understanding is that a mulching mower will typically have a blade which is able to cut the grass up smaller however the blade on this mower does not have any other cutting edges on it to do this.Good or bad: Weight, this is substantial at approx 20kg if you need to carry it a lot. If you don't need to carry it then its not a problem as the weight and feel is a testament to its build quality. No problem at all when mowing, it's nice and agile. Be aware this isn't self propelled (doesn't have a function to drive itself) however this may only be a problem if you are mowing on an incline.Summary: I really wanted to love this because it fits in with all my needs of needing to be quick and easy to get going, far less noisy than my petrol mower, easy to store, fantastic battery life but for me the extra hassle of having to clear up the grass it leaves behind sadly means it isn't for me and possibly others. It's interesting that other reviews advise it collects well but doing some research on these mowers it appears the grass catcher bags not collecting well is common. On the other hand if you don't care about the grass catching abilities and are also invested in the Ryobi line of products which share batteries etc than it's a lovely machine with a good build quality. If you are an irregular mower and therefore always have significant growth to mow personally I would stick to a petrol mower, the extra power which my Honda Izy has just makes light work of such a scenario whereas I feel this isn't quite there yet.
