Oh K! Hydrating Snail Face Mask Sheet - Snail Mucin Snail Sheet Mask

It took a while to pop the sealed pack on this mask, i have a huge yuk reaction to the whole 'snail' thing. This masks just make my brain conjure up images of snails crawling over my face!!! Getting over my ridiculous reactions i ploughed on...I have used a few face masks and some things seem to be the same for all of them, as all faces are different, no one mask is going to fit them all perfectly. Im not sure that this mask would fit anyones face but it is a flat thing and faces are curved so its expecting to much but for those of us of an OCD persuasion its a minor annoyance that as soon as you get one bit to sit flush with your face another bit is no longer behaving itself. The best thing to do it put it on without looking in the mirror, just make sure you can breathe ok.This mask includes plenty of liquid with it. I imagine, with careful application, you could get multiple uses out of it.It comes folded up so you have to try and unpeel it from itself and work out which way round it goes. Thankfully its not too strongly smelling. Then you slap it on, ignore the bits sticking up and relax and not think about snails crawling all over your face....I waited as long as i could then peeled it off. It felt instantly cool when i removed it and i rubbed the liquid left behind in. My skin felt lovely and fresh (as it often does after using a mask) but i couldnt detect that much of a change.The price (and yuk factor) of this maxsk means its probably little more than a novelty, i cant see anyone using it all that often. There are better and cheaper masks out there.

We had a sheet-mask party in our house and my mum wanted to try this one partly for the hydrating values and partly because snail secretion has been linked to Healing and soothing the skin when inflamed, sore and helping to rejuvenate aging skin. My mum has tried snail secretion products in the past to help take the anger out of her stress and hormone related congestion so was interested and well qualified to assess the efficacy of this one.This is a typical fibre sheet mask, we were pleased with how generously it was soaked with product which leaves extra for neck, décolletage and hands to get a little treat too. The fit is a bit pants though, no matter how my mum tried to smooth it down another bit popped up but it comes with the territory. There was a lovely cool sensation (which of course may be contributed to the alcohol evaporation) and immediately after removing the mask her congestion patches were completely calmed of redness but this returned somewhat over the next hour or so though not to the same degree of 'anger'The worst part of the product though was the intensely floral fragrance which is wholly unnecessary and a potential irritant.Overall, it's not as good as other snail products we've used but it's better than some other western beauty interpretations of snail products.

If you can get past the thought of there being snail mucus in this product it's not at all bad once you get past the fiddly bit of unfolding the mask and applying the wet stuff. Once on it doesn't smell very strong of anything and does give a bit of a glow to the skin once removed. It works quite well as a face mask and is supposedly good for your skin so what the heck!

Oh K! Hydrating Snail Face Mask Sheet is another face mask from the Oh K! range and once again this is one which brings much-needed moisture to my face. It was nice and relaxing to wear and left my face soft and smooth.The fact the main ingredient was snail mucin which has been well reported as an excellent source of hydration for your skin. I did like the results but the fact the mask only provides one application makes it rather expensive for what it is.It is very relaxing to wear and my skin looked and felt good, it would be better if the masks were sold in a pack of three - four.Nice to wear and skin felt good therefore good results.

As with many of these mask products the claims for hydration tend to be slightly limited. This feels cool and gel like when you first apply but it warms up quickly on your skin and feels refreshing and relaxing to have on. My skin which is on the sensitive side did not react to the ingredients which is a plus and immediately after and for the next few hours my skin looked and felt brighter and more hydrated, however to be perfectly honest this did not last for very long and by the next day my skin went back to its normal state. I think this is good for a quick boost and a calm but as they don't contain medical grade amounts of active ingredients they tend not to have long term benefits

Once you get over your initial disgust at the whole idea of snail mucus, this is actually quite good. Lovely feeling afterwards, though you look like Hannibal Lector for a short while.

I feel this mask may be a bit of a gimmick, really interesting and exciting to use but actually not as effective as other face masks / moisturisers and more expensive.Plenty of product on the sheet which means it can be used a few times, however the whole experience was extremely slimy, even after when the mask was removed I found my face was left feeling sticky for hours afterward - and not in a good way!The mask wasn't a great fit for my face but felt nice and didn't have any sort of smell which was nice. this is a great gift idea or as a fun group activity but I don't think its a product you'd really buy for yourself time and time again.

I love these masks for a quick skin pick-me-up. Just rip open the packaging, extract the mask carefully, trying not to drip, and apply to your pre-cleansed face. Lie still for 10-20 minutes (or watch an episode of your favourite Netflix drama). Remove the paper mask and massage the remaining product into your skin.Snail mucin is apparently good for hyperpigmentation and can help with acne scarring. Marketed as anti-inflammatory and scar lightening as well as anti-wrinkle.One mask isn't going to change your life but regular use can help those with these skin problems - it's worth trying!
