QED Reference XT40 Award Winning Speaker Cable - per metre. Unterminated.

Very well made. Very good sound. Solid alround. Very large diameter cable (each channel is roughly the same thickness as a pair of Atlas Element interconnect) banana plugs to take this cable are hard to find. I use Nakamichi's without the sleeves, as the grub screws protrude too far to fit them back on. 2 screws on each plug secure the cable nicely though.

Simply the best quality speaker cable and at a great price point. I have my Cyrus ONE amp biwired to my Monitor Audio MR6 Bronze Reference speakers using this speaker cable. The sound is simply fantastic. Five stars.

Very, very good cable that really improved my hifi system.

I was slightly cynical about whether this would really improve sound quality but having replaced the AudioQuest G-2 cable I was given free with my speakers I would say there is a genuinely noticeable difference although its hard to explain what it is. One of the other reviewers has explained it in terms which sounds like nonsense, but I reckon he thought the same as I did...

I thought long and hard before buying this cable after reading the excellent reviews. As 16 metres was required for my bi-wired Wharfdale Diamond 121 speakers connected to a Marazntz pm 5004 amplifier, the cost was equivalent to that of a major component.The improvement over my QED 79 strand cable, also bi-wired and no mean performer, is significant in terms of clarity and dynamics. The frequency response is also extended, most notably at the high end. I found that bare wire connection is the easiest, but this could be down to my amp and speakers, both manuals recommend bare wire.All in all, highly recommended with decent partnering equipment and a quality source such as Tidal, Flac files or a good turn table.

Firstly I should say that I bought these from my local hifi shop along with with QED connectors, not from Amazon. I'm leaving this review here as I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and feel it's a good place to leave reviews.I think these cables are amazing. They have made such a big difference to the sound of my system. I was using Bose speaker cables previously, but these are way beyond what the Bose were able to provide in terms of sound quality.These QED cables add clarity, instrument separation, a milky smooth immersive sound with improved bass. I now do not believe at all anyone who says that speaker cables are just bits of wire. Perhaps on cheap systems that might be true, but my, and my wife's, ears both say these make a difference. I spent about £120 on 7m of cable (2 X 3.5m) and connectors on a system that cost me about £1800, and they definitely improve the sound. I was skeptical before I bought these, now I'm 100% happy.

Had used far more expensive speaker cable for many years. Bought the XT40s for a second system, used them between a cheap Teac Amp and a pair of PSB Imagine Minis. To say they made a favourable impression is an understatement. Decided to try them on my main system connected between a Denon PMA2500NE and a pair of PMC Twenty23s. They are so good, made me wonder what I've been missing for years. Listening to 1.fmadore jazz.net is an absolute delight. The only problem I have now is in deciding whether to invest in two sets of matching interconnects?

Good cable with an open midrange and reasonable bass register but a touch sibilant on the louder and higher treble frequencies. Whilst this cable was a winner in the "What hi-fi awards 2015" it needs to be carefully matched in a system and, like all QED cabling does not sit too well with over bright components. Otherwise this cable is fine at the price and works well with medium priced hi-fi components.
