Replacement for earlier model
Bought to strip off the wider carrier top plate and side bars in order to use the main beam to affix a 4.5kg ebike battery. The earlier Raleigh Avenir lasted more than 2 years of rough MTB trails before the main weld cracked. So not bad! Unfortunately this newer model does not have the easily sliding top plate tightened with 2 bolts from underneath, but is all welded. Had to cut through tough welds to remove it. In a cold garage in January. Don't wear a fleece! Takes forever to get the Aluminium swarf off afterwards!

Does the job and takes the weight!
I was a bit wary buying this, but as I wanted to use it on my road bike this is the only type I can use. I was really impressed. I had 7.5kg panniers on this and it was rock solid. If you lean the loaded bike against a wall you may have to nudge it back slightly, but that's easy to do and it certainly didn't move while I was cycling. It's so easy to move between bikes as well so the whole family can use it. Very happy with this!

Good product with a few drawbacks
I was a bit worried about the single point fixing for this item, around the seat stem, but this turned out to be very rigid in the end. The clamp however is about 5 cm long so if your seat is currently at its lowest level you'll have to raise it by 5 cm, which is not good if you have short legs. Also, when I re-attached the seat it fouled slightly with the pannier bracket. I resolved this by rotating the saddle clamps by 180 degrees which moves the seat about 4 cm towards the handle bars. I also had to re-attach my rear light which needed an extra angle bracket, so it would have been nice to have had this included.Altogether a very good product if you have long legs.

Looks better than photo and works great!
I bought this pannier for my double suspension bike. At first, I thought it'd be something that I would fit on whenever I need, and then remove so that the bike wouldn't look odd, but in fact, the pannier stays on all the times. It actually looks better than on photos.About the problem of stability, I've never experienced any swinging, or losing balance with my pannier bags on the sides (normal shopping for a week food, plus 3kg of huge chain lock). The maximum of weight is written as 10kg, but I usually carry more than that and still have no problem. Just need to really tighten the quick release to the seat post. Also, sizes of seat post isn't a problem. My seat post is small, so I use the bigger one of the 2 rubber pads included. My flatmate, who borrows my pannier sometimes to do shopping, has a bigger seat post, so he only need to thinner and smaller rubber pad.A small tip: the pannier can be a rear mudguard, but if your rear tire is big (like mine, 2.2), then you should need a mudguard. I have an old down-tube mudguard, so I tie it under the pannier using 2 cable ties, and I always stay dry.

Excellent value pannier rack
This is a really high quality product for the price, and especially suitable for those on a budget, or for bikes which do not have adequate rack mounts down by the axel of the back wheel. These racks stand or fall on the clamp, which in this case is very solid, and comes with a couple of essential rubber cushions so you can adjust well to the circumference of the seat stem.I took it with some panniers on a 10 day cycle round Wales, and had no real problems with it. Once, it slipped to the side, and i had to readjust, but this was probably because I hadn't clamped it tight enough. Takes 10kg.

sides are too close to the tyres
I love to cycle especially if I need to go to a supermarket to buy bread and stuff. So I wanted to get the extra attachments so that I can put a bag to put my shopping items. This rear carrier is quite sturdy however the sides are way too close to the tyres and the side bags that I got rubs against the tyres. I didn't want the hassle of having to send the item back. So I did my own DIY and placed a wide foam brick cut into shape and placed under the bags which keeps the bag from rubbing against the sides.

Good but not perfect
Good thing to have.Positives:- Light- Easy to handle- cheapFew things I don't like about it.- When it rains the bolt that holds it on the frame opens and unscrews, and there's a bit of trickeru to prevent that- the side frames are too short, I would prefer them to be longer, my paniers sometimes scratch the wheels when they're emplty- The plug in the rear of the carrier has fallen out and I've lost it

Useful if you can't mount a standard rear carrier
Useful if you can't mount a standard rear carrier. I carried full camping gear and clothes for a cycle trip between Amsterdam and Budapest (1000 miles), I'm confident this exceeded the recommended weight but it worked fine. You need to make sure that you make good use of the rubber/plastic wrap which goes around your seat post. Expect some vertical bounce as you go traverse obstacles.
