I recommend that you contact Manfrotto Uk (the same company for Lastolite & Gitzo ) customer and technical support, they are excellent. The weight limit for this stand is 8kg fully extended, but if you drop the height of each section by 2.5cm then you increase your maximum weight limit to12kg, and therefore if your softbox is within these weight parameters and you have one leading leg directly under the load, you should avoid the risk of it toppling over. However, double-check with Manfrotto just in case, to avoid any accidents as they might recommend a more suitable stand.
