The Big Book of Low-Carb Recipes: 365 Fast and Fabulous Dishes for Every Low-Carb Lifestyle

Very useful and simple
I have just started on the low-carb lifestyle and this cookbook is the first major acquisition on this journey. I found it useful, practical and comply to the low-carb principles mostly. So far I have tried only two recipes but they turned out well and didn't require much time in cooking (but you have to prepare the ingredients in advance). Normally, I like cookbooks with lots of pictures but although this one doesn't have pictures for all recipes, I somehow didn't find it difficult to imagine what the final dish would look like as they are not complicated dishes. I also like the introductory part.Just a note, this cookbook is, as its name suggests, for everyday cooking so the dishes are simple, not gourmet-style or restaurant-quality. So don't expect anything spectacular. However, it meets my expectation fully - and more !! Thanks the author :-)

Misleading
This book has got some very good recipes in it, and I like the spiral binding which means it stays open BUT it's big drawback is in the desserts section. Desserts are always a problem when following a low carb diet, but this book has some tempting recipes except they all substitute sugar with fructose. Now fructose (fruit sugar) is much lower on the GI scale and therefore far better for diabetics but carb-wise it's exactly the same as sugar!! It would have been far better to use a granular sweetner like Splenda in these recipes, which would have been low GI AND low carb. You can't just swap one for another either as fructose is sweeter than sugar so you need a lower weight of it (I suppose that's a little carb saving). However this book is not called the "Low GI Cookbook" or the "Diabetics Cookbook" but "Low Carb", which I think is misleading.

Also includes vegetarian A must for anyone who has to lose weight - just stick to the weights and portion sizes and its easy pea
I struggled with another similar book having had to go on a low carb diet almost indefinitely. Now everything is changed!! This is the most comprehensive and well written recipe book I have come across. All the thinking has been done for you. The recipes can be used for family and friends with addition of the "banned for me " ingredients such as potatoes rice bread etc etc. Also includes vegetarianA must for anyone who has to lose weight - just stick to the weights and portion sizes and its easy peasy !

Looks interesting. Uk measurements, very good quality book
Just received book and it looks interesting. Good quality paper, uk measurements, not many photos but sure I can manage without. 216 pages altogether and they are long and narrow ie 11.5 x 6.5 inches.Lots of recipes are for 1 or 2 otherwise 4 which is good. Each recipe has carb count but no other count ie calories etc. There doesn’t seem to be any difficult to source ingredients. Looking forward to delving in and cooking. PS there are only 8 pages 20 recipes with desert recipes
