this sketchpad is sturdy and the pages are good quality paper.

I wanted to pick up a couple of sketchbooks for my teenaged granddaughter to practice at home what she is learning in her art classes at school. I was happy to find this one at a very reasonable price ($9.99 for thirty sheets). The paper seems to be a good weight and is quite thick. And it is acid free, which has not been the case for several other sketch I have purchased (at least this was not stated). So, this is an even better deal than I thought it was. The paper has a nice texture, and works well with pencil, charcoal and pastels. She has not tried drawing with pens or markers on this paper yet. I like that my granddaughter can decorate the front and back boards. The current price seems like a very good deal.

Sturdy pages. Simple.

My son brought this along on a backpacking trip, and he said it's not as heavy as other sketchbooks. He also said the paper is great for pencil drawing and inking.

No matter where you choose to hang out to create this is your go to! The size is perfect for on the go or at home. The front and back covers are very sturdy and give the support needed to keep your paper well supported. The quality of the paper is excellent and you get great results! I love that the front and back cover are plain so that you can decorate or even draw in your own personal style. Makes a great gift too!

I enjoy drawing. When I was a kid, I took my sketchbook everywhere I went—in my backpack, an oversized purse or whatever. The one I have had, though, is a bit big for that. I wanted something more compact and portable, but which I could still tear pages out of if I wanted to give someone a drawing.This one is perfect for that purpose. Measuring just under six inches wide and just over eight inches long, this fits into my bag with room to spare for a set of colored pencils, an eraser, etc. Although I haven’t done it yet, it’s cool that you can decorate the plain cover however you please. The paper is sturdy and has just a bit of texture, which makes it great for art pencils, charcoal, colored pencils or pen. I probably won’t use it for watercolor or acrylics, but I suspect the weight is heavy enough that you could tear out a page and do a quick plein air painting.I was a bit disappointed that one corner of my sketchpad was damaged from being shipped in a padded envelope. Nevertheless, at under $10, it’s a good value for a very portable spiral-bound sketchbook.

I am not sure about cover or back but the paper itself is listed as acid free. I will most likely not use the two outer pages front and rear till know for sure about the covers. But otherwise the paper is a really good heavyweight about 100 lb maybe a little over I looked up the conversion from 160 GSM and it figures to be 108.11lbs text paper the front cover is chipboard colored the same as the back but weighs about the same as the paper inside maybe a little heavier. I did a pencil drawing in the pad and it has great tooth for picking up the pencil work. I think this paper will work even better with pastels or charcoal.
