Little House on the Prairie: Season 2 [DVD]

Classic Drama
There is little to say here that will not be obvious to any little housefan. The DVD set is well presented and the quality of reproduction is fine as long as you remember how long ago these programs were made, so the sound and visual quality is sometimes poor by modern standards.Nevertheless the whole series represents a timeless library of a time when relationships were founded on principle sadly lacking today. The challanges and events represented by each episode are as relevant as ever to the modern world. What is so rewarding is being reminded how close knit community of Walnut Grove works across all the usual age and status barriers that we are used to today, to resolve things with love and humility. They are the perfect antidote to the fractured and disfunctional "global" village we live in today. Enjoy them. They are precious.

Little House on the Prairie Series 2
Good product on the whole. We just regret that the case is not the same as the one in the firt series. The size is different and do not match with the first one on a shelf which is quite unpleasant. The words do not sound as good in quality as well. From a French point of view it would have been useful to have English subtitles for a better understanding of the american accent.Generally speaking if would be nice to have on screen the languages and subtitles available for each DVD Little House On The Prairie - Series 2 [DVD] [1975 ]

Superb series let down by average presentation
Series two contains some of the best episodes in the ten season run, however the presentation of the box set is a real let down. With series one we got three normal sized double disc cases, inside a nice embossed slipcase. This time around, we get a non-embossed case with slimline cases. What is the point of changing the packaging so the two seasons together look out of place on the shelf? The slimline cases I recieved feature pathetic central hubs, so the discs rarely stay in place.Presentation wise, the picture is an improvement over the region 1 releases, but the sound is far worse, meaning you have to crank it up to near maximum to enjoy it. Which is a shame, as the series features some wonderful music.Quite why Universal can't go back to the original film and remaster these sets is beyond me - these types of releases are zero budget money makers for Universal. I suppose we should be grateful to getting the series at all though.Lets hope if season three is released the sound is vastly improved and they don't go and change the packaging again!

LOVE LOVE LAURA INGALLS
I love all the stories and have read them many times, I watch the DVD's if I have had a bad day, it makes one realise just how lucky we are these days... with all mod cons etc, just one point the sound quality on this set was not brilliant, I had to have the volume turned way up on my TV.

Little House on the Prairie - Series II
Feel-good DVD that all the family can watch. Brings to mind a time when good morals, kindness and thoughtfulness were the order of the day. This copy comes from Holland and so it can be annoying having to cancel out subtitles every time an episode is played. Also, be warned, the sound quality is poor and, in some episodes, very poor.

very good
I got series one because I remember enjoying it as a child. My children loved it so bought series 2. Enjoying this series just as much, is a shame the box looks so different to series 1 but no other complaints. A good watch I would recommend it.

As long as you're happy to turn off Dutch subtitles this is great!
As with all of the other seasons I bought, this came in a Dutch box with Dutch titles and automatically plays with Dutch subtitles that you have to turn off each time. Otherwise the classic remains unchanged! Love watching them in all these years later.
