New Superior 'Big Red Foot' Hop Up Work Platform - 0.53m Platform Height - Hop Ups

Most useful platform i own. I have two and am awaiting a third as i write. Strong, light, and an excellent working height for me. I am not saying that other makes are worse, but they would have to go some to be better. Used in house for plastering, woodworking and sitting, i get moments :) in the greenhouse for trussing and garden for work on trees. Also makes a very handy platform doubled up for my site saw and fir holding an engine for some rebuild work. I am a fat bstrd and tall so my weight is an issue for many wrork pkatforms, this handkes me with confidence.

I feel more than a little guilty by giving this platform only 4 stars. The platform is very well made, very safe and a quality piece of kit at a very reasonable price. However, Having looked at a great many platforms listed on Amazon I chose this because of the high ratings it had received - all justified - and because it was higher tan other platforms. And therein ls the problem. I am 5' 10" and my ceilings are about 10 foot high; as a consequence I cannot stand up straight on the platform when painting the ceiling - a little uncomfortable. Therefore an excellent platform if you are of less than medium height or you ceilings are over 10' high. Clearly I did not consider this when purchasing this platform - perhaps you should.

I bought these after borrowing a similar item from a neighbour - if you've never had the security of a large solid platform when cutting the top of a hedge, these will be a revolution, so much more stable than a step ladder.I reviewed about 10 different models and chose this version at the lower end of the price scale for the following reasons:1. Slightly higher/taller than normal (530mm against 500mm)2. Slight wider (left to right) than normal (700mm against 600mm)3. Excellent 150KG weight load4. Good locking clips5. Lightweight and compact to carryOther similar solutions, such as the Youngman Oddjob, would be a fine alternative if you don't need the extra height.I'm considering buying a second one to use as "trestle ends" for a medium length plank to allow me cut my hedge as a single job.Highly recommended with no reservations.Peter G

This is nice and solid and quite well built. It has proved more useful than anticipated too. I bought it for DIY jobs inside the house but have also very handy in the garden for trimming branches and such like.

Excellent steps, lovely and strong and after using them for a week I couldn't fault them at all. Have seen many similar stools but these are locking for extra safety and that peace of mind when reaching up to 9 foot. I would recommend them to anybody.

Ideal for use outdoors or indoors. Very stable, lightweight, and perfect height. The locking mechanism provides full confidence in being able to use the rung to step onto the platform
