Happy with my purchase.
Having only just received my unit yesterday, I am perhaps a bit premature in writing a review, but I can certainly give first impressions which, I must say, are good.Having opened the box and removed the radio I had it connected and playing DAB radio stations within a matter of less than five minutes. The sound is certainly pretty impressive and, as agreed with my wife, better than the DAB radio (not fair to name it here) which it replaced. It also looks a very impressive "little piece of furniture" with its wood like finish.I only had one little bit of trouble with the initial set-up whilst storing preset radio stations - there are four stored station buttons, named 1, 2, 3 and 4+ with the first three being very simple to program by just selecting a station and then holding in the appropriate button for a second or two. However, the last one was a bit more troublesome, for me anyway. For any future new owners, it's worth noting that, having selected a station for storing here, you hold in the 4+ button and, at the same time, rotate the "Select" knob until e.g. Preset 4 shows on the display and, whilst still holding the 4+ button, push the Select knob in, which will store the selected station. Repeat this for the remainder of the presets, up to number 10. What I was doing wrong originally was not holding in the 4+ button until I had completed a preset, so hopefully anyone reading this will not have my "problem".In summary, first impressions are that I have made a good choice of DAB radio which also makes a good job of playing CDs. I have not yet tried the Bluetooth side of things.Edit 2nd April 2016 - Having now had the unit for a couple of weeks I have come across no reason to change my above review as it has performed very well in that time. Considering the size of the stereo speakers, the tone is all I could have hoped for and perhaps even better. Pairing my Galaxy S6 Android with the C-D6 was extremely easy so I have now tried all the features of the unit and am happy to recommend it to anyone considering such a purchase.1/4/18 An update to my previous. The unit still works well but I have now had it more than long enough to determine its worst point, which most definitely is the remote control. This is most definitely the worst remote I have ever owned, bar none. You press the power button and the unit powers on and off, and can try four of five times before it stays on, likewise when trying to power off. I have read other similar reports about this remote so mine is, unfortunately, not a one off.16/08/18 Another update. I am still very happy with the unit but the remote control was getting worse than before so I contacted Pure to ask if this was a common fault and whether or not it had been addressed? A chap called Sam answered immediately to say that he was not aware of any known fault with the remote but asked for my address so he could send me a new one. It arrived a few days later and, whilst it looked identical to the original, it felt more substantial, weighs a good bit more (relatively speaking) and works a treat, just as one would expect a remote control to work. Whereas before I had to use multiple button presses to achieve anything, this one works first time, every time, so result! Thank you Pure for good customer service.

Good kit, good sound, if you have good reception.
Great bit of kit. Superb clear sound, easy to use. Easy set up. Blue tooth great. But remote control isn't particularly robust. Broke into a thousand bits on accidentally hitting the kitchen floor, after 2 weeks of use I have poor reception at home, this picks up bbc and local channels, but not classic fm, which is disappointing. No input for an external aerial, don't believe the Amazon bundles!

USB
The soud quality is superb but connectability not so great. There is no USB port so connecting remote speakers needs to be done via the audio output. The CD player is a little selective: No problem with new CDs but doesn't like some of the older ones. Maybe I needed a different model but at least the sound quality is great.

Excellent compact DAB and CD
I love this system. Its got good sound and functionality. The only drawback is that it won't transmit Bluetooth so a cable is needed for headphones. Audiophiles would probably not buy this but it is neat and compact and goes loud enough for most rooms. It actually sounds better at higher volume. Great for playing Iron Maiden and Metallica. The DAB is excellent

Don’t hesitate, it’s brilliant
Outstanding quality this was a gift for my dad off the family for his 75th Birthday He adores music and needed a system that is easy to use. He is thrilled it’s so clear listening to sport and music and looks really classy too!

Just like the proverbial Curate's Egg - good in parts.
I bought this, as I was looking for a DAB radio to replace our good old faithful Boombox Sony FM radio/CD/Cassette radio with a remote control. After much searching I found two radios one of which was this Pure, the other being a Sony Blutone100 but was put off by the remote which didn't have any visible dedicate numbered presets for the stations. The Pure had a slightly better remote but the whole system is badly designed in that only 3 presets are directly addressable, others have to be re-called by pressing a stupid 4+ button, which is fine if one is sitting next to the radio and you can see what you're doing via the display. If one is sitting some distance away one has to press the 4+ button and then count the number of presses on the remote to go through the stored presets, 4 to 10 - quite ridiculous in my opinion.Another problem was the limited window in which the remote operates which is unlike any other remote I have ever used. It has to be pointed directly at the radio's remote sensor and then has limited up/down range - most disappointing. Other remotes could be bounced off ceilings and wall and still manage to operate my TVs, Humax and HHD/DVD recorders etc.In its favour however, the radio looks nice and gives a good tone once the bass and treble have been tweaked quite a lot. Where mine is situated it tends to boom a bit but removing most of the bass and putting the treble right up seems to have cured this.Yes, I have mixed feelings about this radio but am getting used to its operating quirks but it could be so much better if the designers could design a system that would give, say, at least 5/6 preset buttons on the remote and similarly on the radio itself. I also think that this radio is overpriced by about £50 but it does have Bluetooth although I shall never use that facility.Another design anomaly, I have discovered comes from the radio's menu system. If one goes into it and then the 'Customise' sound section and then alters the 'Loudness' to either ON or OFF the radio does not keep your preferred setting when the radio is turned OFF! I prefer this setting to be OFF but this doesn't stay so once you turn the radio off and on again - shame.Knowing what I know now about it, in the flesh, would I buy it again - Hmmmm, probably.
