KOHLER K-837-0 Bellwether 60" x 30-1/4" Cast Iron Alcove Bathtub with Integral Apron and Lumbar Support, Left-Hand Drain, White

This tub is cast iron. Very heavy and durable. We had a requirement for a low tub for young kids. This tub looks fantastic and goes great with the modern style of our bathroom.

So disappointed to get this tub out of the box for install and see tiny chips and scratch deep enough that it doesn't come out with basic cleaning. The reviews that say it is wavy are correct. I am contacting Kohler to see if they stand behind their year warranty. But still, quality is not what it used to be, thin coat of enamel for a cast iron tub that should last years without chips. I thought at this price point and with the Kohler name it would be a good one.

Arrived very quickly for such a heavy item.

I was looking for a low height bathtub, cast-iron, with a more modern shape. I would have preferred the edges to have a sharper ease, but for the price is a good fit for my bathroom renovation project.Tub was delivered VERY dirty (filthy, soil or brown grit all over the tub. A cause for concern considering I dont want the finish scratched on the tub), not wrapped or protected. The deliver guy wanted to leave it at the front door (which is normal), but it seems to me they would have it protected against the elements if they were going to just drop it off like that. Probably will not buy from this seller again (I'm very particular about stuff like that). Althoug,h delivery was fast and I have no other complaints.

Looks a bit peachy in color in real life

This was delivered but they sent one with the drain on the wrong side, so I sent it back. I'm undecided if I will still order the tub (with the correct drain). The white color was nice, the tub felt great, the shape was modern without being austere, but the finish was very lumpy, like very pronounced orange peel. It looks intentional, and I think once it was installed it wouldn't stand out so much. But just be aware this is not at all a smooth surface like my old 50+ year cast iron tub.

Top quality, (Kohler there is none better) This tub was delivered right on time and is beautiful. I broke up a 50 year old cast iron that had been scratched and I couldn't polish the scratches out. I totally ripped out the bathroom and had plumber and electrician redo the whole room with PVC drain pipes. I put down 1/4" cement board on the whole floor and then put the tub in on top of the hardiboard. The tub has little legs which sat nice and level. It is beautiful.Be advised it is heavy. maybe 250 lbs, It is a little higher than most tubs 14 inches. and the shoulders are wider too which is why i got this one. The overflow side is a little more out into the tub hence you may want a longer spout. ( the toe tap and the lift and turn get clogged too often ) I was wary of the new cable controlled drains as they haven't been out too long and was concerned about plastic construction. I just bought the trip lever from Menards and my plumber had to cut the pipe a little to make it fit.
