Good but a bit heavy on the wallet.
Really good product. Works with time machine on the Mac too. You only need to format the share to allow for time machine to attach. I haven't had this for too long so will have to come back to this but on initial use it provides a great tertiary backup solution. There are tonnes of features and tools built in and it is a snap to setup. Not giving this a 5 star as the price is quite steep. You can probably get something similar for less but from what I read this is the best out there for the serious home drive storage enthusiast.

Software could not detect it on my MAC
Sadly the software for MAC was unable to detect this unit.I installed a version of Windows inside VMWare Fusion on my MAC and that was able to then detect the unit and configure it - and the MAC could then even detect and use the shares, but I didn't really want to have to use a Windows VM to configure it each time, and then mount the created shares on my MAC.I sent it back and payed the extra from the 5D instead, which works perfectly, and I have rated that one 5 stars.

Go for the highest capacity you can afford & dont compromise on cheap drives.
Get the WD RED drives as I have had initial issues with lesser drives.
