Awesome
The media could not be loaded. Nice to have.3 white pen included. My concern is where to get more pens after this??3 AA batteries needed.Easy to use.Light is blue-green, pink-yellow- purple.Theres couple of mode for light. But none single. It goes from one color to other. Just saying, not complaining.Battery doesn’t last long. It turns off after like 30 min. I have to press thon button and works again. No issue

Don't Buy Useless as the INK Stains it if left on
It's just a white board with a light in it. Mine came with scratches on it, very disappointed. The LED writing pad is misleading. No led writing, it's INK lighted up by led's that give it glow effect. When you wipe it off, it smears all over so it takes a lot of rotating with your wiping cloth then you need a dry one to finish. Then to top it off. You can not let the ink stay on it longer than 24hrs, it will permanently stain it.If the Sharper Image store's where still around, this would be a product everybody returned after Xmas. Apparently it's so bad that it's not even sold online at Sharper Image.

Limited use, disappointing
The Sharper Image LightBoard description is listed as being "Perfect for Messages, Grocery Lists, Notes, Affirmations." This would imply that what you write on it can stay on there for a bit, but not according to the "Tips" which say: "clean drawing surface within 24 hours to avoid staining." The "wipe clean surface" has restrictions as well: "wipe display only with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Do not use paper towels or other abrasive paper products."So it would seem you need to use a non-cotton (because cotton is scratchy) product to wipe it down, probably something like eyeglass cloths... probably would have been nice to include one of those with the product. It doesn't really tell you how to clear the screen, but I found using my hand worked better than anything, but even that was iffy. You can see in the pictures that residual clouding can remain (see the Hello World picture). One of the pictures (where the scribbling is white) is what it looks like when there is something on the screen but the board is turned off. The pens leave this wide residue which is then illuminated with the edge lighting. This residue is what can "stain" the board if left on for more than 24 hours. I used one of the pens on my phone screen and it made a thin yellow line (with my phone screen off). That was when I first noticed the residue as I wiped it off. There are 3 pens provided and I have no idea how long they will last. The magnets on the back (the 4 round disks) are quite strong. I was able to turn the device on/off by pushing down and it never moved.Overall, I am not really sure what the intended purpose of the Lightboard really is, because the advertised usage isn't it. I can seeing a kid enjoying it for a while, but that's about it. I will give it 2 stars for the short-term novelty and it does work. The magnets work very well, but the kickstand is a bit difficult to lock into place. The best description for the product is "a disappointment."

Lightboard, not like a boogie board
Easy to operate, but does need 3 AA batteries. You press the button on top to cycle through various color options, which was really nice. Could be one solid color, or the light can do ombre fades. Comes with three markers that you use to write on the device. I thought it was going to be more like a boogie board, where you draw, press a button, and the whole thing erases. It's not like that at all. It's like a lightboard you might see a a restaurant displaying the menu. Why this is better than a boogie board: 1) the light is way brighter, so whatever you draw really glows. 2) If you make a mistake, you can erase the mistake and continue drawing/writing. The included stand is nice too.

Electronic Etchasketch
The media could not be loaded. I thought this would be a good idea for my kitchen because I could just jot down a note. I'm always forgetting things.I saw some reviewers complaining about the required batteries when the Amazon page description says in several different places that batteries are not included. The board works without batteries, just no colors. The board came out of the box with marks on it. It's like an old Etchasketch, only electronic. I tried a regular cloth and then a microfiber. Both left a sheen under the glass the board. Then I shook it like an Etchasketch. Finally, I tried a wet sponge and microfiber and that did best.Once I used the pen, you really don't notice the sheen under the glass. You can light it up for fun (video above). As you can see from the picture, my note can be seen without turning it on.I'm disappointed. With all the technology nowadays and the $30 price, I was expecting more. There are three pens included. However the pad has some hallow spots where the manufacturer could have made a compartment to hold the extra pens. As for the pen you're using, it can be slipped in the fabric holder on top; which isn't that easy if you're in a rush. What I do like is that it sticks to my refrigerator. I also like that it has a large size. The pens are easy to use and the writing it clear. If it erased better, I would have given it a better rating. Erasing shouldn't be a struggle.

A great idea!
Its super fun to play with, and my wife and I have used it for lists. It comes with 3 pens to write with. If I didn't have a few white boards, I'd use this.

Easy to erase
Got this for grocery lists. Cant miss the list, bright color on the screen. Good size and its lightweight.

More work than it’s worth! The ink stains if left on the board too long!
The media could not be loaded. Sharper Image LightBoard LED Writing Pad with Stand is more work than it’s worth. F.Y.I - this light board will stain if the ink is left on the screen for too long. The board needs to be cleaned within a few hours or it will stain. This light board is very difficult to clean. A wet and dry cloth is needed and it’s time consuming. 3 washable markers are included. There are 7 light modes and the back has a magnetic mount. Based on the fact that this board stains quickly I can’t recommend it!
