Very sharp, so take care when using.
Impressive performance, very sharp, extending handles reduces the amount of effort needed to cut through most branches.

Good quality product
Good quality item. Easy to use and worth paying the extra for the ratchet mechanism and telescopic arms which helps cut through thick branches with ease. Super sharp.

Very Sharp But Heavy
I am impressed with the cutting ability of these loppers. I was easily able to trim back small branches and very thick brambles, and they extended with no problem. They are, however, pretty heavy, especially when you have to hold them above your head for any length of time. But good quality and do a good job.

Cuts small branches quickly and cuts less small branches using ratchet
These make short work of small branches, which are too big for secateurs e.g. 1cm diameter.Using the ratchet mechanism, these can handle larger branches e.g. 3 cm diameter. This entails opening the loppers quite wide and several open and close actions, but is still much quicker than sawing through a branch. When extended, the arms may bend if you try and cut a substantial branch. Just use the extended mode for smaller branches, that would otherwise be out of reach.Obviously these loppers are substantially heavier than secateurs

Amazing initially, but lack durability unfortunately.
Initially I was so impressed with these loppers and would have given them 5* but after having them for 5 months they have lost their ratchet assistance, and when carried around don’t hold themselves together any more, just open up and bang into my leg. They were very sharp but now struggling to get through the same branches that I could manage with them when new. I’m surprised they haven’t lasted long and would love to replace them but feel there should be some sort of warranty, process suggests to contact spear and Jackson which imo is a real pain.So work well, look smart but durability is lacking unfortunately.Lightweight enough to use all day but now ratchet assistance has failed it makes for hard work.

Sturdy & well engineered
These loppers can cope with pretty sturdy branches with the ratchet system taking the strain. Blade is sharp and is easy to manoeuvre into position. The extension is easy to use though the twisting of the end of the arm is a little fiddly in gloves.
