DMT Diamond Sharpening Steel Extra Fine - 12 inch
Very good value for money at the current discounted price - £26.60. Works very well with my large Victorinox kitchen knives, as does DMT's Diamond Bench Stone Extra Fine (solid metal plate type). A few very light strokes with the sharpening steel puts an edge on the large Victorinox kitchen knives that will cleanly slice through 43 GSM newsprint paper. Recommended.

as a pro chef I have used one of these steels for about 10 yrs and it is brilliant . my current one is the red ring fine steel and I use it to keep my knives honed and very very sharp. when I need to put an edge on a knife I use a steel then a standard diamond steel then finish with this and it does a superb job. Whilst I use it frequently it takes nothing off the knife unlike cheap steels which quickly ruin knives with a large bow in the blade. expensive yes but well worth it in both quality of job done and longer life of knives.

Useless 'sharpening' steel!
This product was meant to put an extra fine edge on my filleting knives, after one day it had several rust spots on it which rendered it useless, total waste of money, £46 down the drain!
