EK1-115 Black Universal Bike-2-Bike Jump Start Kit

This is a must have for every biker, especially if you ride in groups. Easy to connect gives you a fused 15 amp SAE connector for a battery tender or accessory plug in. Then you have a a BMW Socket that is unfused and goes directly to the battery. Plug the supplied BMW cable into the socket and the other end to another bike that has the same harness and thats all there is to it. No bike with the same set up handy not to worry. The kit comes with alligator clips on a cable with a BMW socket at the other end, Just plug in and attach to any 12 volt source - car, spare battery etc and off you go. Take up almost no space and you don't have to remove plastic seats or covers to jump the battery.Many people assume that they can jump through an SAE connector. Not so a 10 or 15 amp fuse will blow immediately. Great company to deal with. We have a group of 60 members and half of them have installed them on their bikes.

I love this. Super easy to install and now I can jump my bike with any car battery if my battery ever dies. BUT I also can connect this to a trickle charger to keep my battery fully charged at all times to extend the life of the battery. So not only is it useful as a built in jumper cable, but also enables me to keep my battery fully charged with my YUSA battery charger.

I would give it the last star if the wires were heavier, and the cable insulation was completely weatherproof. The cable for this thing is pretty thin, 18ga I think, possibly 16ga... I've used it a couple of times so far and it has worked great, but I feel like it would be more capable with 12ga or 10ga wiring though.Besides the wiring, the black sheathing around the jump cable leaves about 1/2" of wire exposed at each plug, and provides no strain relief at all. That could certainly use an update, as these are used exclusively outdoors, they are prone to dirt and moisture contamination.That being said, so far I have not had a problem at all with my kit. I have used it both to get myself going and to rescue someone else, and both times it did the job. It cost me less than a set of traditional jumper cables, and takes up significantly less space on my bike, not to mention doesn't require me to remove my seat to use. If you ever need a jump, you'll be glad you got it. I also appreciate that the harness provides you with a battery-tender style plug. I have both a float-charger I use at home, as well as a handle-bar mounted cell phone charger that are compatible with the plug.All in all, I'm happy with the product, and would buy it again if I ever get another bike, however I would be glad to pay more if it came with a nicer cable, and a bit extra still if it were wired in a thicker gauge.

Heavy wires used. Thick enough to be used safely for jumping a dead bike battery. Ordered 8 of these to put on all my bikes.Highly recommended especially if access to the battery isn't that easy. In my BMW C600, I had to take down the right panel to get to the battery. This product will make it easy to get a jump from another bike with a BMW lighter port or using alligator clips to a 12V battery.

Purchased a few of these for my buddies and me to have while touring. Works exactly as described.***The wire is 12 gauge. Confirmed on their website.*** - A previous reviewer stated 18 gauge or 16 gauge. THIS IS NOT TRUE. It is 12 gauge.This is a MUST HAVE for every rider.Have had to charge up other riders batteries with the alligator clips.Have charged up our batteries with the supplied EZ jump cable.Very easy to connect to battery and snake under my gas tank on my Yamaha Fz6.Great product. I recommend it to every rider and tourer that I come across.*July 2018 update* Just purchased another one for my new motorcycle. Back of the package states 12 gauge wires.

I like the concept but didn't like having to place the small collar inside to separate the wiring. Looked to me like it was a mistake in manufacturing and they added the collar to let the customer fix it. The insulation boot was hard to pull off (to put in the collar) and in doing so I unplugged both wires and had no way of knowing polarity to put it back together. Had to get out my meter to make sure. I like the product but this collar thing made it a three star instead of a five.

Great accessory for Motorcycle, Actually used it for the first time today, I had a battery tender plug for trickle charging but you couldn't jump start a machine with those small wires. This system works great with the larger wiring plus you still have a battery tender plug. If your riding buddies also have this system makes it super easy to jump off bike to bike.

Item did not work properly, I attempted to jump my HD Ultra Classic via cigarette lighter and it wouldn't work I then attempted to use the battery recharge cable attached to the bikes battery with the additional cables that came with the kit and that didn't work this product was very disappointing i would not recomend.
