Meaco AH Dehumidifier, Meaco 12L AH Dehumidifier

Very pleased with this dehumidifier.Unsurprisingly low fan speed is quieter than high but neither are loud and certainly the low speed can be used without annoyance in quiet company. You know it is on but it is far quieter than some other dehumidifiers (the Vax DCS1V1EP looks stunning but is incredibly noisy).It does chug and grind a little for a minute when first turned on but very quickly settles down. The water tank was half full in just an evening and there are no damp problems as such here - RH usually around 60% according to the wall meter near the kitchen. It was bought mainly for comfort, not necessity, as when we cook we were noticing condensation forming on the windows recently in the cold weather. Given the water it collects here then I am sure it would make a massive difference to homes with damp problems.Disappointingly lacks the ioniser on the virtually identical Home Treats machine but we have had a Meaco dehumidifier before and willingly pay a little more based on our previous experience of their excellent customer service. Our last Meaco dehumidifier featured 'Meaco Control Logic' that turned the fan off once desired humidity levels had been reached, until needed again. That was a nice touch that this model does not have but it's certainly not a deal breaker.The large display and simple but effective electronic touch sensitive controls make this an easy item to use. Also nice to have something that looks a little different to the normal size/shape of dehumidifiers without compromising efficiency.Would recommend this machine.

We were having issues with cold walls and humid air condensing on them which was starting to ruin the decorating we had done earlier in the year. The humidity in the house was hitting 82% at times. I researched dehumidifiers and decided that this one would be ideal for us. It has really dried out our walls and there has been a lot less condensation on the windows, I have been surprised by the amount of water this little machine has extracted from the air. It has made the house feel a little warmer and the air seems healthier too,

Nice compact and well engineered unit - but the continuous fan is too noisy and very annoying. It would be great if the fan stopped when it reaches the set humidity level.

I haven't used it much at all as yet but it certainly does its job. It takes up very little room and is easy enough to move around. The motor runs reasonably quietly and, although not tested over any length of time, running costs should be minimal.

Good machine work well economical but heavy and noisy .

Arrived packed well, let stand upright for 1 hour ( instructions stated 1/2 hour) , plugged in and it worked straight away. (Took about 1 hour to get some water, but it started dripping away nicely.... easy to use, tap the controls till double line appears in display for constant use, or work way through options to desired humidity level ( Display is large and easy to understand) If power cut happens or using separate timer control, it comes on again with same settings as last used, no having to turn on manually again. Has built in timer function for limited time use if desired. Hose attachment can be put on for constant drain easily, and removed again easily. 1.7L tank , easily removed from front of unit to empty with float control shut-off. light enough to be placed easily, carry handle on side. castors can be fitted if required, follow instructions carefully to fit. (I didn't fit these as it sits flat where I need it. Quiet unit, not as loud as some 9" desk fans can be! More like a gentle hum with a light fan sound, even on high fan speed ( 2 speeds) very happy as a result! Unit about 10" wide, x 10" deep, x 20" high approx.

Purchased this dehumidifier to help with the humidity in my 4 bed house now that winter is coming and also to see if all the claims of proper humidity levels are not just clickbait.This dehumidifier is definitely a looker. After unpacking it, i definitely took a few seconds to look at it.As a a dehumidifier, it works; it brought the relative humidity levels of my house from 70% to 55% in a few hours.However, it is noisy enough to annoy you when placed anywhere near you. It isn't so much the low frequency hum of the compressor when it's running, rather the fan even at low speed (forget about staying sane at high speed, think hairdryer level of noise). To make things worse, the fan doesn't turn off once the humidity target has been reached. I understand that it also functions as an air purifier, but you have no option to set it as a dehumidifier. The sound that the fan makes can even be heard from another room, with the doors closed, so this unit is definitely not for you if you intend to run it all night.It is such a shame they didn't use a quieter fan (would have been lovely if it was as quiet as my vax pure air 300 air purifier), It looks good, dries the air reasonably well but it is just too noisy.
