Poor design but works great.
I use these all the time for my dorm and they are super easy to use. The little chain and ring around the remote is genius and really helps me not lose it. It is a little inconvenient to find a plug for it given it’s odd shape and size. I haven’t seen anything on the plug in or remote to indicate a timer function so I have no knowledge on that. I haven’t used it outside either so I have no information on how that works.

Great for Christmas Tree/decorations
I bought one of these for my Christmas tree in 2019 and liked it so much I tracked down another one down on Amazon and purchased it in 2020 for some different Christmas decorations. Like this one specifically over other models because it plugs directly into the wall and has 2 outlets. Easy to use and it is not an eye sore.

Just does what it's supposed to...
I've never written a review before and most of them on Amazon are clearly fake! ;-)But... this thing does what it's supposed to. It power cycles, as intended, 3 floors away to a plug in the basement. Definitely a life-saver for what I use it for...

Used for controlling my ceiling fan
Our kids got in the habit of constantly using the ceiling fan light instead of other lamps in their rooms. Trouble is, the halogen bulbs in those ceiling fans burn out quickly and are fairly expensive. And also it is a pain to replace. This remote switch made it simple for them to start using the other light fixtures in the room. Ceiling fixtures are usually the worst kind of light in a room, this remote outlet control makes it possible and convenient to use floor and table lamps. I looked at several other brands, but chose this one because of the completely simple "on/off" 2-button transmitter. It is easy use for the kids.

Great for loft beds
My daughter is using this to turn out her lamp while she is in her loft bed. She has been using it about 4 months now and it works well and reliably.
