Cycle up hills much quicker.Achieve fitness goals much easier.
Does exactly what i bought it for fully UK COMPLIANT gives a good constant SAFE speed eases those troublesome hills whilst retaining full pedal function of bicycle and gearing. It does help to have some basic mechanical understanding and some engineering skills this is a universal kit but quite good at that I did have to mount the motor bracket slightly differently than in the installation video however does give enough rigidity if tightened correctly using the correct tools. The seller and myself were in contact from posting the product to me finishing the installation VERY HELPFUL and reasuring.Sorry if the photos appear sideways.DON'T ALLOW THE ELECTRICS TO GET WET.You have to apply some general common sense try to keep things watertight this kit for me is for town/country road use and generally in the dry.For me its a winner.

The motor appears to be reliable. Early days yet.
First off If you are not used to tinkering with bikes and just want something guaranteed to fit then this kit probably isn't for you. I just happened to use one of these motors on a kit I bought years ago and it lasted 3 years through everyday use going back and forth from work. That is though all the weather you can think of. I am still happy with that. So I spotted this kit, read the reviews and watched the YouTube videos. It became apparent that it would probably fit but would involve bending the bracket to line the motor up. I ordered this in the knowledge that bending the bracket may invalidate the guarantee. For nearly £100 for a working ebike I took the risk. The first thing I did was check the motor which arrived well packaged. I just put it across a 12v battery I had lying around and it ran. I then proceeded with the fit and I was correct about the bracket I had to bend it, I used a hammer and rested it on wood while hitting it. It was time consuming but I got there. I also ended up positioning the motor so that it was above the spoke sprocket and not in front of it. I got the idea off someone else's post on here so have a look around. Positioning the bracket in this way invalidates one of the fastens so whatever you do make absolutely sure it is secure on the other fastenings. Anyway it was a success. I ordered a kettle battery, the one that fits on the down bar bottle fixing holes, which was 36v 10ah. This came, connected it all up and it ran. The controller I secured in a plastic project box that I had to saw and alter to allow the wiring and fixed the whole thing to the vertical down bar just across from the battery. The connections were marked up though not brilliantly but the nature of the connectors make it intuitive to fit together. There are YouTube videos for the assembly so give them a look. I have had the kit on for about three weeks now and I have done good 15-20 mile trips on it and have so far covered nearly 100 miles with no problem. If the motor is still OK in a couple of months time then I will order a second kit to keep for spares. Bear in mind it is only 250w and you will have to pedal with it but it makes the hills a lot easier and believe me, I have put this kit through its paces. The main reason I went for this kit was the price. It was also fun tinkering with it. The whole thing took me about five hours to complete, the main issue being the bracket. If you are lucky it may sit straight on your bike without issue. Just beware that you could end up having to make it fit. That's why I deducted a star. Also on a 20 mile round trip the 10ah battery still had power left for more. The range however depends on hills, how much you pedal and what weight you are carrying. I am 14 stone and I had a rucksack with tools, water bottle, waterproofs, pump etc. When you first take it out for distance take your tools with you just to be safe. I've never actually needed them. If it blows up or something soon I will add to this post. Hope this is useful to you.Update 20/11/21. A few months and many miles later still going strong. Have used it for distance and use it daily to work and back. So far so good.Update 06/08/22. Had this item for a year and it's still going strongly. Took it out for a fifteen mile ride yesterday and all is well.

The future
I had to make a new bracket to make it fit under the crank!,As a mid drive it pulls like a train 😃Mine is powered by 2X 18V Mikita battery’s.The Twist grip style Excelerator is nice!,But the lock gets In the way of the grear shifter!

Amazingly cheap!
For £100 this is definitely worth the money. And also this thing was difficult to set up but was 100% worth it in the end.

Installed on a fixie bike
Fitted to a fixie hub. Needed to make a new mounting plate in 5mm aluminium to relocate motor as my heel kept clipping the casing. Battery pack and controller located in 75mm x 50mm cable trunking. 3D printed brackets for frame.

Mounting plate
The mounting plate in the pictures is used on a right hand mounted bike, I don't know if you have a left hand mounting plate??

Pretty good, but you must know what you’re doing
Arrived very quickly, everything arrived in good condition. The kit is very low quality, as the price would suggest, the sprocket was very difficult to mount. Mounting the motor to the frame is very difficult and the included mounting bracket will not fit most bikes. If you buy this product, you must be prepared to put a lot of effort in to get it to work. Overall decent product.
