Philip's Navigator Camping and Caravanning Atlas of Britain: Spiral (Philip's Road Atlases)

This is a really comprehensive road map to keep in the car, and obviously very useful if there’s no signal. It’s quite a large, somewhat heavy atlas, but we’ve used it a lot.

Ideal map for use in our motorhome.

The standard and clarity of the mapping is excellent, but (unless you have a truck) it is far from being a handy road atlas to refer to on a journey. The 1:100,000 scale map is super-clear but it also decides that this has to be a large, bulky book. It weighs just under 2 Kg so the navigator probably doesn't want it on their knees for too long.The sub-title "Camping and Caravaning" refers to the organisation, the Camping and Caravanning Club, rather than the activity. The only campsites shown on the maps are those operated by the aforementioned club. It would be reasonable to expect to see campsites included in the key to Tourist Information Map Symbols but there is, disapointingly, no mention. Much as I'm impressed by the mapping, I would not recommend this road atlas to other motorhome owners.

Essential for caravanners and motorhomers.
