Pilot Kakuno Fountain Pen of Biginners, Medium Nib, Glay Body (FKA-1SR-GYM)

Took 2.5 weeks to get to me from Japan. Long wait but definitely worth it. It is such a smooth writer. The medium nib is actually finer than European medium, and being plastic makes it light and comfortable if you need to write pages after pages. The cap is of beautiful lime green colour. Have been recommending this pen to my friends who love fountain pens, they also find it a remarkable writer.

Comfortable pen to hold and a quality nib as you might expect from Pilot. Japanese medium nib is almost a European ‘fine’, so a lovely even line without looking splodgy. Delighted with this as a classy everyday writing instrument.

Nice plastic pen with a comfortable grip and a smooth nib. But the nib is very fine and it took a bit of work to get the nib working properly. However, Pilot are generally well regarded for their nibs. Be aware the medium nibs are fine but they lay down a clean line. An excellent pen for around £8.50. The more I use it the more I like it. Bit of an unforgiving nib on the page, i.e. nail like but that's common to steel nibs. Good value and a better choice than the Lamy Safari with its uncomfortable shaped grip.

I love the way this pen writes. Its very smooth and the ink dries quickly. The only complaint is that the cartridges don't last very long compared to a ballpoint or rollerball--make sure to buy some ink cartridges with it!

This is a great pen, very easy to get started and very pleasant feel when writing. I've purchased a few more for presents! It's a pity that Amazon doesn't deliver all the colours and pilot ink pen types outside of the UK - neither the refillable Con-40 cartridges that can fit these pens, so I had to look for these somewhere else.

Really, really good pen. Have bought a Lamy Safari, a Pilot Metropolitan, a Platinum preppy and this in the last couple of months. They've all been great but to be honest this is the nicest.

Nice inexpensive fountain pen. This us my second one. The first one lasted for more than a year. Quite a good performance with a good quality for an affordable price. Highly recommended.
