Easy to fit.
Firstly I want to say I am crâp at any electrics. This thermostat was the easiest electrical device I've any attempted. There are 4 wires that come with spade connectors already fitted. You've got positive and negative ( easy ) then 2 black wires that are the switch. You can not got wrong. I've replaced a Baxi old style clock thermostat and it's much better.I've already ordered another for another boiler that only has an inbuilt timer/thermostat.

Installed and worked fine in my Baxi Duo-Tec 28, at a good price.
Installed and setup without any problems at all. It replaced a Salus RT501rf and the transmitter in the Baxi Duo Tec 28.The notifications of what is going on is on the screen OK, perhaps a little smaller and different icons, so look for them when you first use it. Programs in a similar manner. For my use, all the connections were the same as the old one, and the new transmitter identical in size.Would definitely buy from this seller again.

Easy to install but the guide and setup can be a pain; good value though
Okay first the plus points. Installing the receiver in the boiler was simple and the pairing process check went without a hitch. Now for the negatives and these are all about the User Guide provided to give installer and user information.Fitting the receiver requires the connection of four terminals numbered 1 to 4 and identified as N – Neutral, L – Live Input (230V AC), COM – Common terminal (volt free) and N.O. – Normally Open respectively. For my boiler (an Alpha CD series combi boiler) the connectors went like for like but this may not be the case for another boiler. 1 & 2 appeared to be the mains voltage input identified by brown and blue wires for mine; the remaining two red wires were only differentiated by labels 3 & 4 which tied in with the connectors. For the transmitter the guide does not show the battery compartment location – it can be found below the sliding panel which reveals the SELECT and SET buttons but (on mine) required a bit of force to slide it off (I had suspected that was the location but didn’t want to force it initially in case of damage). Most of the guide has little sub sections for different parts of the setup but the sheer number of these makes keeping the guide to hand essential to find the correct combination; not to mention some of the terminology is not immediately clear (e.g. Review the Setpoint (desired) temperature which may be the technical term but for the average user “Setpoint” is unnecessary and confusing).Have a look at the Salus website to see the guide and note the above points. In fact I would highly recommend it as it will give you an idea of how difficult it will be to programme your thermostat using the guide.Overall this seems to have been written by an engineer who knows how everything works but finds it hard to put themself into the position of someone who is coming to this item from new.The main point is I would recommend this to a friend but would be happy to help them with setup. It is good value.

Brilliant Product
I bought this item to replace a faulty Danfoss RET-B RF Thermostat and Danfoss RX 1 Receiver connected to a Potterton Promax 28 ERP boiler which were faulty. The boiler was fitted with an old fashioned time "manual" time clock for programming. The receiver unit replaces the manual time clock perfectly, the thermostat is sited remotely and they communicate with each other. It is important to note that if you replace the old external controls with this item you must install a link wire at the terminal box (where the old thermostat wires were) next to the L, N & earth terminals at the terminal box on either a Baxi or Potterton boiler. Other than that just follow the included installing and set up instructions.

Easy to use
This is very easy to use and the instructions are very clear and easy to read (for us that don't have a clue about boilers etc)

Easy to install, near impossible to program.
The radio receiver was a straight replacement for the old mechanical clock in the boiler, just swap over the connections and screw it in place. That's the easy part. When it comes to using the thermostat, that's a totally different story. You need to setup at least 12 different timers or 42 if you want a 7 day timer!! Once setup, just to increase the temperature needs at least 3 button presses, even more to change a time setting. It doesn't even turn the boiler on/off, it just changes the temperature at the set timers, it's really far too complicated just for a heating controller.I work rotating shifts, so I'm up at different times every few days, making this timer basically useless. I've set it to just switch off, actually switch down to 10C, whenever I go to work or head to bed. I manually raise the temperature when I come it, which needs about 5 button presses, as I said, way too complicated.I'm happy with the receiver, but will be looking to swap the thermostat for something simpler.
