The Fields of Normandy 2: A Solitaire Wargame (Mike Lambo Solitaire Book Games) Paperback – 19 Feb. 2023

Okay qualifier, I have bought all of Mike's books and am yet to be be disappointed, they provide straightforward solitaire gaming with great replayability. This one is no exception.The rules are well laid out and easy to master, leaving you to guide your platoon across 12 scenarios against various enemies. Given those enemies are randomly chosen means there is an inbuilt replayability.It is worth comparing this to Fields of Normandy 1, Mike's first release and highlight the evolution of his books. The first thing you note is that the artwork is much much better, as is the layout of the tables. The rules themselves while a little more complicated - though still very accessible - now provide the player with more choices and thereby more tactical decisions. The addition of a simple campaign is welcome and can lure players into risks to gain those extra victory points. Of late, Mike has been providing files for counters and maps on Boardgamegeek, which is much appreciated.Overall another great title and well worth the money for the hours of gaming goodness it will provide
