I know ordinarily I am supposed to write about how pungent they smell and how they infuse my food with flavor. They do that. But honestly I buy these to put in sachet bags around my apt to keep the tiny critters out. You know the ones your neighbors invite in, but when they move out neglect to take with them? Yeah. Since I'm not a fan of unwanted guests I use this trick my grandmother taught me. I live in an area where roaches, Waterbugs, and other marshy fiends unfortunately persist and invade. 3 years ago got the keys, immediately put sachets of bay leaves in every closet, cupboard, cabinet, drawer, and hidden area. Change it out 2 times a year, January and June. Have found 1 Waterbug dead, and 1 roach in that whole time. My neighbors can keep their guests.So, hidden tip to make these even better.

They were fine, some broken Boo hoo. LOL and a great value. I use this so much I ordered a couple trees.

I bought this large container because I heard this repell squirrels and chipmunks. That would be incorrect. They only carried the leaves off to add to their salad.The color is what I expected.

Most times bay leaves impart a flavor to soups and stews without much of a distinguishable smell before adding them. I opened this bottle and WOW, it has a spicy aroma I have never smelled with bayleaves from other brands.I put some in a spaghetti sauce that only had a couple of hours to simmer and my kids were impressed with the taste of the sauce.Normally the sauce has to sit refrigerated overnight to help bring out that flavor but not this time, I am impressed.I am a former military cook and soups chef and I will definitely say, I wish I would have bought and tried this product sooner and am looking forward to seeing how it does in other recipes in the future!The price point and quality definitely make this worth a try!

I expected some leaf damage due to shipping but was pleasantly surprised - damage was minimal.Have used them in soups and stews with no discernible difference from store-bought. I look forward to gifting all my friends with a years supply and I'll still have plenty for personal use.

I purchased these bay leaves because they are a natural deterrent to bugs and insects. I add several bay leaves after opening flour, rice and pasta and placing into storage containers.I learned this tip from a Costco cashier a few years ago and haven’t had any problems since.The larger size container was much more than I needed, but the price was much better than the small sizes.
