It's a sea lion!
If you have a child obsessed with pinnipeds then this the toy for them! My 5 year old daughter saw this in a shop and begged me to buy it for her. When we saw it again online (for the same price) I gave in. I can't really see the attraction but she hasn't been disappointed. Schleich animals are well made, anatomically perfect with a good weighty feel to them so they are a better buy than a lot of the rubbish she sets her heart on.

Pricey, but worth it
This item by Schleich is of good size for a 3 year old and very durable. We've played with it in water, soapy water and in a pot with water beads. Unlike some animals from cheaper competitors, this animal hasn't lost its painting and is shiny and like new (6 months on). Also, it stands very stable and doesn't wobble. There are no sharp edges and the detail is amazing. Provides endless fun to play and learn with.

Sea Lion
Love this. I have bought it for my daughter who trains Californian sea lions and she thinks it is just like one of the real sea lions she works with. Good quality, despite being some form of plastic. It looks just like pottery but hopefully less breakable.

Schleich sea lion
Although Schleich scaled and non-scaled models are always a little more expensive than apparently similar toys I have always found them to be better made and extremely durable, sustaining the most 'enthusiastic' use very well indeed.
